SRMJEEE 2020 Cancelled, 10+2 and JEE Scores to be used for Admission to SRMIST

Due to the pandemic and subsequent concerts of students and parents, the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has cancelled the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) for admission to B.Tech. The test was supposed to be held across 127 cities and India and five overseas centres in Dubai, Doha, Muscat, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Instead, admissions to B.Tech for this year will be based on 10+2, pre-university or equivalent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology. This process will be applicable to all campuses of SRMIST: Kattankulathur, which is the main campus, Ramapuram, Vadapalani and NCR New Delhi; SRM University AP in Andhra Pradesh; SRM University Haryana in Sonepat; and SRM University Sikkim.

Those who have taken the JEE Main and the SAT are encouraged to apply. Besides the examination, SRMJEE slot booking has also been cancelled. The SRMJEEE 2020 admit card will not be released by the institute this year.

The form for providing scores is available on the website of the university. If candidates are awaiting their 10+2 results, they can upload their scores as soon as the results are released.

SRMIST will continue to award a wide range of scholarships for deserving candidates including the ones who scored high in JEE Main and SAT examinations, on joining. However, the SRMJEEE rank based scholarships will not be available.

This year, SRMIST has created a record in placements, having had over 8,500 job offers, recruitments by more than 625 companies and a top salary of 4.16 million INR, which is a record for any Indian university. Naturally, the institute is facing a deluge of applications: more than 150,000 candidates have applied to its B.Tech course.

The institute will also award a wide range of scholarships to deserving candidates, including top-scorers in the JEE Main and SAT. However, SRMJEEE rank-based scholarships will be unavailable.

Classes will commence in September 2020, be it in offline, online or blended mode, in accordance with the notifications released by the government, keeping in mind the safety of students.
