Taskforce for NEP 2020 implementation in Karnataka submits reports to Deputy CM; Check Details Here


The task force that is implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Karnataka has successfully submitted its report on Saturday, i.e, On November 7, 2020, to the Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwathnarayan and the Education Minister, S Suresh Kumar. 

The reports were submitted and presented at a press conference, where the Deputy CM stated that Karnataka is the first state in the entire country to form a committee on the NEP-2020 implementation and the discussion for the same will be made in the cabinet. 

Further, he said that the state had formed a committee to submit and report the implementation of the NEP, whereas in other states there has been no committee formed or it has been constituted yet. The final implementation of the NEP report will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting.

Deputy CM Ashwathnarayan is also the higher education minister in the state said that NEP-2020 recommendations will be made in a phase-wise manner at the starting of next year. 

The Committee that has implemented the NEP report has suggested the following changes which are, 

  • Operation of the schools
  • Separation of regulations
  • Equitable and inclusive education
  • Assessment reforms
  • Pedagogical 
  • Curricular and other reforms in the schemes

On July 29, the Union Cabinet approved the new NEP, which is now all set to make its way for creating a vision for the education system.

The new National Education Policy (NEP) will provide high-quality education to all that will transform India as a globally knowledgeable super-powered country.

The introduction of NEP in the education system will enable an individual to study more than one specialized area at a deeper level. 

It will also help an individual to develop character, creativity, scientific temper, the spirit of service, and the 21st-century capabilities across streams such as Science, Arts, Humanities, Social science, and others.
