Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Announces GS Admission 2023 for PhD, I-PhD & MSc Programs

New Delhi:  Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), has begun the application process for Graduate School Admissions (GS-2023) for PhD, Integrated PhD and MSc Programmes for the academic session 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @www.tifr.res.in. 

TIFR offers Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. and Ph.D. programs in multiple fields such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Computer Science. Candidates seeking admission to these programmes can submit their applications till October 31, 2022.

TIFR GS Admission 2023: Highlights 

TIFR will conduct entrance tests for Graduate School Admissions (GS-2023) for PhD, Integrated PhD and MSc Programmes on December 11, 2022 (Sunday).

The application portal for GS-2023 will open soon (any time in mid September 2022). 

TIFR GS Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions into the PhD courses will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates must hold a master’s degree in any relevant subject with not less than 5 years of study including the undergraduate degree.

TIFR GS Admission 2023: Selection Process

• Candidate's selection will be made through online tests to be held at various centers throughout India and subsequent interviews. 
• After qualifying the exam the candidates are shortlisted based on the interview. 

TIFR GS Admission 2023: Fellowships

The PhD students will receive a monthly fellowship of INR 31,000/- (+ hostel accommodation OR HRA as applicable) enhanced to INR 35,000/- after registration.

I-PhD Students will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 21,000/- for the first year. Upon satisfactory performance at the end of the first year, the fellowship is enhanced to INR 31,000/- per month (further raised to INR 35,000/- after registration for Ph.D.). 

The MSc (Biology) students will receive a monthly fellowship of INR 16,000/- (+HRA as applicable). While MSc (Wildlife Biology & Conservation) students will receive a monthly fellowship of INR 12,000/- (fixed).

TIFR GS Admission 2023: How to Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of TIFR @https://www.tifr.res.in/

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
