New Delhi: Thapar University has extended the application deadline for admission to its various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal at thapar.edu. 

Thapar University offers BE, B.Tech at undergraduate level and MBA, MA, M.Sc, MCA, and ME/M.Tech at postgraduate level along with PhD under different specialisations. Candidates need to submit their applications for UG programs by July 21 and for PG programs by July 30, 2022.

Candidates seeking admissions into the UG, PG, and PhD courses are required to meet the requisite eligibility criteria which are mentioned below. 

Eligibility Criteria for B.E/ B.Tech: 

• Candidates must have passed class 10+2 with at least 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST candidates) in PCM.
• Candidates must have a valid score in JEE Main 2022 
• Candidates's admission to the B.Tech/ B.E will be made on the percentile-based merit of JEE Main 2022.

Eligibility Criteria for M.E/ M.Tech:

Candidates must secure at least 60% (55% for SC/ST/Industry sponsored) marks in the aggregate in BE/BTech with the relevant specialisation or M.Sc. with the relevant specialisation.

Eligibility Criteria for MSc/ MCA:

Candidates must have passed bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% in any specialisation from a recognized university. 

Eligibility Criteria for M.A/ MBA 

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% in aggregate marks or CGPA or grade secured from recognized University/Institute to be eligible for admissions into MA/ MBA. 

Eligibility Criteria for PhD: 

• Candidates should hold a M.E. /M.Tech. /M.Phil./ MCA / M.Sc/ MA / MBA/C.A. Degree or an equivalent degree with minimum CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded or GATE / NET (UGC/CSIR) 
• Candidates with B.E./B.Tech. degree or equivalent with an excellent academic record (minimum CGPA of 9.00 on a 10-point scale or 80% marks in aggregate) are also eligible. 

Thapar University Admission 2022: Selection Process

Selection Process for BE/B.Tech:

• Candidate's selection will be based on JEE Main, followed by counselling. 
• For B.E./B.Tech. Lateral Entry, the candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of merit in the LEET exam 

Selection Process for M.E/M.Tech: 

Admission to the M.E/M.Tech courses will be granted based on the candidate's performance in GATE. 

Selection Process for M.A/ MBA: 

• Candidate's selection to the MBA program will be granted based on their performance in the CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ CMAT/ GMAT followed by a GD and Interview.
• Candidate's selection to the M.A. program will be granted on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate collectively, in Graduation and Class 12th. 

Selection Process for M.Sc/MCA:

• Candidate's selection to the MSc program will be on Merit- basis (40% weightage will be given to Class 12th marks and 60% weightage will be given to graduation marks).
• Candidate's selection to MCA will be based on merit (marks of 10th, 12th and graduation up to end of 2nd year, minimum of 65% marks). 

Selection Process for PhD:

• Based on the merit obtained in the Entrance Test and Interview, the candidates will be selected for PhD. 
• Further, the candidates securing a minimum 20% marks in the written exam will be called for Interview.

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of Thapar University, thapar.edu.

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee of INR 1500 online and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
