New Delhi: A high-level committee assembled by the Indian government has unveiled draught National Credit Framework (NCrF) awareness workshops that will be held in conjunction with it.
Realizing the intent of the national education policy (NEP) 2020 is the workshops' main goal. For the purpose of achieving multidisciplinary education, NEP 2020 encourages the fusion of academic and vocational fields. The NCrF is a thorough framework that allows integration from three domains, including academic learning, vocational learning, and experiential learning from elementary school through higher education.
Half-day courses are being planned to educate shareholders on the framework. These shareholders will discover how the NCrF makes it possible for students to switch between academic and occupational domains, exit programmes, and re-enter them by accruing and transferring credits.
IIT Delhi in the north, IIT Bombay in the west, IIT Guwahati in the north-east zone, IIT Bhubaneshwar in the east-central zone, and IIT Madras in the south will be in charge of directing the workshops. Under the direction of the education minister, the institutions will host the workshops in a hybrid format.
Vice chancellors and representatives of organisations from states and union territories are invited by UGC to the workshop at IITs in their respective zones. This will help the student community learn more about the NCrF and make it possible for universities to adopt it smoothly. The host IITs will provide information on the location of the workshops that must be attended in person as well as a web link to participate in the workshops online.
