December 02, 2021: University Grants Commission, UGC has extended the last date for project and thesis submission for MPhil and Ph.D. students till June 2022. The extension is applicable for students whose due date for thesis submission was December 31, 2021.
As per the latest notice released on December 01, 2021, the University Grants Commission stated that extension is offered to students in view of the larger interest of research scholars. With this decision, students have been given an extension of six months.
The UGC official notice further states that the extension is also applicable for students, whose last date for MPhil and Ph.D. thesis submission is June 2022 in various UGC affiliated colleges and universities.
Additionally, an extension of six months is also granted for submitting evidence of publication and presentation in two conferences to Ph.D. and M.Phil students. Students will now have to submit their publication materials and presentation on or before June 30, 2021.
"In continuation to UGC Public Notice dated March 16, 2021, and keeping in view the larger interest of the research scholars, a further extension of six months beyond December 31, 2021; i.e. until June 30, 2022, for submission of the thesis by MPhil/Ph.D. students may be granted by the Universities".
"It is also notified that the extension for submission of M.Phil./Ph.D. thesis till June 2022 shall be applicable to all such students whose due date of submission of MPhil/Ph.D. thesis is on or before, June 30, 2022," the official notice reads.
University Grants Commission has extended the last date for submission of thesis for affiliated university and college students twice before. The extension was offered to students due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic in the country.
In addition to the extension notice, the UGC has also released a recent notice for Common Entrance Test (CET) 2022. As per the notice, the CET entrance examination for both UG and PG students for academic session 2022-2023 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency.
Students who are now preparing to appear for CET 2022 examination are advised to keep a tab on the official website of the Union Grants Commission for latest examination updates at https://www.ugc.ac.in.
