Union MHRD likely to approve New Education Policy 2020: Aims 100% Adult Literacy by 2030

The New Education Policy is likely to be formally put before the Union Cabinet Minister on Wednesday, dated July 29,2020. It urges all the global universities to set up their campuses in India. 

This is in context with complete overtaking of the regulatory system in higher education. Besides this, all the technical institutes become ambidextrous.

As per the recent reports of MHRD, it has released the draft of NEP 2019 wherein it was mentioned regarding the revision of the curriculum and the structural framework from grade 12 system to 5+3+3+4 including ages of 3-18. It focuses more towards the Classes 1-3.

Moreover, the medium instruction from Class 5-8 should be in the mother tongue and beyond too. Apart from this,it focuses towards the establishment of Bal Bhavans where children of all ages may desire to visit once in a week and take part in art-related, career-related, and play-related activities.

Even it proposed a separate “Gender Inclusion Fund” for such groups.Also with the advent of GER in high schools it has promoted vocational and academic streams as well which is expected to grow exponentially till 2025.

The policy is all set with a target of 100% adult youth till 2030 with 20% increase in educational investment. This policy was framed in 1986 and modified in 1992.

The First National Policy was announced in 1968 based on the report and recommendations in 1964-66.
