University in Ohio Creates Virtual Platform For Research To Develop Joint US-India Proposals

New Delhi: US university in Ohio to establish a virtual platform for research producing collaborative India-US proposals. The institute has received USD 78,000 funding for the initiative stated Sherrod Brown an American Senator.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) will support the initiative, which will be created by Case Western Reserve University.

The platform will promote partnerships in cutting-edge sectors, assisting in the acceleration of research and innovation, the advancement of scientific frontiers, and the strengthening of interaction between the world's two greatest democracies.

"Research in science and technology is critical to create jobs and improve our economy. We unleash more American innovation when everyone is able to participate and we nurture all Ohio talent," Senator Sherrod Brown said.

Brown co-sponsored the Supporting Early Career Researchers Act, which would create a two-year pilot programme at the National Science Foundation to provide funds to highly qualified early-career investigators at independent and higher education research institutes.

This will help prevent the loss of research expertise as a result of employment market interruptions induced by the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio is extending its educational opportunities in India. The institute has officially signed an MOU with Rajagiri College in India for new programmes. Officials from the university will visit Rajagiri at the end of June, seeking to find more prospects to expand the university's global education programme.
