West Bengal: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has released the guidelines to conduct offline classes from class 9 to 12.
Since the West Bengal government had planned to conduct the offline classes, the WBBSE has issued the guidelines for the utmost safety of the students.
According to the WBBSE guidelines, the schools have been instructed to hold offline teaching classes for students of Classes 10 and Classes 12 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. While for the students of Classes 9 and 11, schools will conduct offline classes on Tuesday and Thursday.

As per the guidelines, the schools will conduct academic classes for class 9 to 12 students from 10:50 AM to 4:30 PM from Monday to Friday in all districts except in schools located in the hill subdivision of Darjeeling and Kalimpong district.
The Schools situated in the hill subdivisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong can start the academic classes from 9:30 AM to 3 PM from Monday to Friday for the classes of 9 to 12 students.
The WBBSE has directed the Schools to conduct awareness and feedback sessions for all the parents and students, every Saturday.
Earlier, on November 16, the WB government reopened the schools across the state after it remained shut for more than a year owing to the ongoing pandemic situation. West Bengal had ordered the schools to shut down in March 2020.
Meanwhile, a bridge course in schools was introduced on November 18, by the West Bengal Madhyamik (WBBSE) and Higher Secondary (WBCHSE) board.
The course has been introduced with an objective to make up the learning gap that occurred in the last two years. A panel of teachers prepared this course in order to prepare the students appearing for the board examinations in 2022.

WBBSE Guidelines for Schools to Conduct offline Classes
- The WB schools must conduct offline classes on alternate days according to the schedule and time-released by WBBSE.
- The arrangement as directed by the WB board must be taken into consideration with immediate effect and should be continued until further orders from the WB board.
- It's mandatory for all the students, teachers and staff to follow all COVID 19 related guidelines and protocols diligently.
- Sharing of food, stationery, books or any other items are not permitted inside the school premises.
- Schools have been asked to establish isolation rooms in case any student is symptomatic with cold, cough, fever or anything related.
- Students, staff and other stakeholders with any related symptoms of COVID 19 are not allowed to enter the campus.
