New Delhi: Woxsen University, Hyderabad has collaborated with Monmouth University, USA to launch the ‘Woxsen-Monmouth Elevate Program’. The Elevate Program came into being with an aim to become a support system for the underprivileged section of society.
This six-month program has been initiated by the Student Wellness Cell in partnership with the Centre for International Relations at Woxsen University. The program is focusing on a number of deliverables for the betterment of underprivileged school children in Telangana.
To this end, the program has aligned itself with United Nations Sustainable development Goals as well as with the ERS (Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability) approach of organisations like AMBA, AACSB, EFMD.
To achieve its aim of contributing to society and building a better future for children from EWS, Elevate Program commenced its activities with over 200 children from different regions in Telangana like Ibrahimpur, Budhera, Lingampally, Digwal, Sadasivpet, Zaheerabad, Kamkole, Lingampally, Kohir and Melasangam.
The expected outcomes of the Woxsen-Monmouth Elevate Program are given below -
- Reducing inequality in the field of education
- Increasing awareness regarding the mental and physical well-being of children
- Ensuring that children have access to a global platform and other opportunities
- Providing resources and opportunities to children so that they can exercise their right to quality education
Woxsen-Monmouth Elevate Program 2022 Initiatives
Various steps are being taken by the Program to meet these objectives:
Fundraising Campaign
Organising fundraising events where interested individuals can donate towards providing children in need with the opportunity to get a basic education
Educational and Economic Aid
The program also offers educational and economic aid to children. This includes infrastructural support, transportation facilities, sports material, reading material, stationery, recorded class lectures to aid teaching facilities and so on.
Academics and Co-curricular activities
The Elevate program is also encouraging students to learn life skills like social dynamics, financial literacy, and the basics of computers. The aim is to help children master concepts so that they can solve problems in an imaginative manner. They are also encouraging children to participate in co-curricular activities to foster out of box thinking.
