Other than performing well in placements, the students of B.Tech CSE at IIT Bhubaneswar get to be a part of various interesting clubs and societies. These are- The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Club (RISC), Web and Design Society (WebnD), and Neuromancers (The Programming Society).

These clubs and societies allow students to indulge in the fields of robotics, web development and programming by interacting with others and working on interesting projects.

Based on my personal experience, I can assure you that B.Tech CSE at IIT Bhubaneswar is a good choice. However, I can not comment on the other institutions/courses as I have not been a part of them.

TG
Tamoghno Ghose Posted On : April 4th, 2022

Among these institutes, VIT Pune is better for CS. Academics, infrastructure, exposure, placements, internships, etc. are better at VIT.

Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Nvidia, Tata Power, Atlas Copco, etc. are some of the major recruiters that frequently visit the campus placements. In the last semester, there is a compulsory 6-month internship module at VIT. This helps a lot with placements. According to trends of the last few years, VIT Pune CSE average package is INR 6.34 LPA. During 2021 placements, the highest CTC offered was INR 33.75 LPA.

Which one is a better college for a B.Tech in CS, Amity university Kolkata or UEM Kolkata?

NM
Neetu Mishra Posted On : March 31st, 2023
studied at Amity University, Noida

Choosing the right college for a B.Tech in CS is an important decision and depends on several factors such as faculty, infrastructure, industry exposure, placements, and more.

Both Amity University Kolkata and UEM Kolkata have their strengths and weaknesses, so it's important to consider these factors before making a decision.

Amity University Kolkata is a well-established private university with a strong reputation for providing quality education in various disciplines. CS faculty at Amity is highly qualified and experienced, with a focus on providing hands-on learning opportunities through projects and internships. The university has a good infrastructure with modern classrooms, labs, and libraries. Amity has collaborations with several companies, which provides its students with industry exposure and internship opportunities. The university also has a good track record of placements with companies such as Amazon, Wipro, TCS, and more.

On the other hand, UEM Kolkata is a relatively new institution but has quickly made a name for itself in the field of engineering education. The CS department at UEM Kolkata has a dedicated and experienced faculty who use innovative teaching methods to make learning more interesting and interactive. The university has a state-of-the-art infrastructure with modern labs, libraries, and classrooms. UEM Kolkata has collaborations with several companies, which provides its students with industry exposure and internship opportunities. The university also has a good track record of placements with companies such as IBM, Cognizant, Capgemini, and more.

Both Amity University Kolkata and UEM Kolkata are good options for pursuing B.Tech in CS. You should consider your priorities and do thorough research on both colleges before making a final decision. It's also a good idea to visit the campus and talk to current students to get a better understanding of the culture and environment.

Which is better for B.Tech in CS: Neotia Institute of Engineering, Kolkata or University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata?

SC
Sudipa Chatterjee Posted On : July 29th, 2021
Studied at Jadavpur University (2019)

Both institutions are private colleges and there is not much difference between these two. They provide similar kinds of placement facilities. Some of my friends studying at both institutes pointed out that the overall performance of Neotia is better than UEM.

  • You should start learning coding from the first year itself in order to get good placements. The college will never teach you coding.
  • Neotia College is an old institution whereas UEM is a new one.
  • UEM will provide you better practical exposure whereas Neotia College is much better for CS stream.
  • As most of the IT companies visit the campus for placements, if you are good in technical skills then you will find a whole lot of opportunities here.
  • The faculties are good at Neotia College.
  • The college also has a lot of extracurricular activities groups which will help you in developing your skills.
Categories NITMAS UEM
Course Fee 4.04 lakh 5.81 LPA
Highest CTC 16 LPA 12 LPA
Average CTC 8 LPA 8 LPA
Recruiting Companies Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, etc. Infosys, Byju’s, TCS, HCL, etc.

Thus it is suggested that you check everything thoroughly before settling down at an institute. As this will shape your career, so choose wisely. The older colleges have more popularity among companies as well as students. They tend to be more reliable.

Which one is better for a B.Tech in CSE, JIS University or JIS College of Engineering?

AP
Anurima Pandey Posted On : December 4th, 2020
B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, JIS College of Engineering (2021)

JIS College of Engineering (JISCE) is the 2nd branch of the JIS group of institutions. JISCE is considered to be a better institution than JIS University (JISU), for their placement record, faculty, etc. Candidates must have 60% in PCM in their 10+2 qualifying examinations to be eligible for admission. They should also have a valid WBJEE score.

The table given below gives some factual information on both institutions:

Categories

JISU

JISCE

Course Fee

4.8 lakh

Total Seats

Placement Percentage

80%

Highest CTC

10 LPA

Average CTC

2.5-2.8 LPA

Some points on JISCE being a better institution for BTech are as follows:

  • JISCE follows a concept of 'Flip Learning,' a rare mode of learning which gives an advantage in placement than JISU. It is the first of its kind in West Bengal.

  • At JISCE, about 140-150 CSE students got placed with Amazon, Capgemini and Wipro with an average package of 2.5-2.8 LPA. The highest package was INR 10 LPA offered by BYJUs. Over 80% of students got placed in 2020.

  • The major recruiters at JISU are Bandhan Bank, Cipla, and Flipkart.

  • JISCE has better lab facilities than JISU. It has over 57 laboratories with better infrastructure and are fully wifi enabled.

  • The CSE department of the JISCE promotes Digital Learning to save paperwork, keeping in alignment with the digital age.

  • JIS College of Engineering has a highly qualified faculty of over 20-25 members. They are better compared to JIS University.

The only negative point is that the campus life is boring at JISU, and ragging is rampant as well. There are many colleges under the JIS group and if you compare JIS colleges with others in terms of faculty, placements, salary packages offered, JISCE gets the first position.
