The first three years of the IPM course at IIM Indore is a combination of Humanities, Economics, and Mathematics. You also get to learn a bit about Information Technology. The 3 years revolve around three major elements.

  • Courses in Mathematics, Economics, and Statistics to build analytical skills.
  • There are courses in Psychology, Political Science, and Sociology to provide an understanding of the core disciplines on which the study of management is based.

There is a Rural Management Program to understand the bottom of the pyramid. You will also have a Himalaya-bound trip. A social internship and foreign exchange program are also conducted. These are also followed by many group interactions. There are a lot more things that take place in the first three years.

Should I prepare from RS Aggarwal's Quantitative Aptitude book for IPM at IIM Indore/Rohtak?

PT
Pragya Tripathi Posted On : January 18th, 2023
Former Management Consultant at Accenture (company)

Preparing from RS Agarwal will not be of much use. Because the questions in IPM or BMS exams are of a slightly higher level and involve more than just conceptual usage, but also a little bit of trickery. These are usually practical questions rather than theoretical ones.

These types of questions are not found in the books of RS Agarwal or RD Sharma. Rather, they can be found in books designed specifically for IPM or CAT preparation. You do not need to go for RS Aggarwal or RD Sharma, but rather for books that are specifically designed for the IPM or CAT entrance exams.

Why is IMS Noida not preferred for a BBA although it holds a very good rank in India today?

AM
Aditya M Posted On : March 10th, 2023
MBA in Marketing & Finance, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) (Graduated 2021)

In today’s age and time, the worth and reputation of a college are determined by its popularity in the digital world. People tend to conduct an online search before choosing their college. Now there are many private institutes that provide inflated or misleading data mainly for advertisement purposes. Such institutes are considered high in ranking due to fake figures. The same is the case with IMS. To look good on the internet many private institutes pay a lot of money to magazines or websites and even go to the extent of writing fake reviews

I am not saying my claim is true for all the private institutes. There are also many who have genuine reviews and good reputations because of the quality of education, management, and infrastructure. Mainly the Government institutes provide the most honest reviews as there is no money involved.

My brother is an IMS Noida pass out and from his experience, I came to know the truth that IMS is just an ordinary college which whose last concern is maintaining the quality of education. It's more like a money-making machine. The following points further support my claim

  • The infrastructure is average not at par with the leading institutes
  • The pedagogy is extremely poor and the faculty just provides monotonous lectures and dictates notes
  • There are no cultural events or activities within campus
  • The administration is average and needs a lot of improvement

What I mean is that rankings and reviews should be the only determining factor while choosing an institute. The best way is to contact alumni and clear your doubts.

Which coaching is better IMS or TIME for IPM IIM Indore?

RJ
Rohan Jain Posted On : January 4th, 2023
Studied at Integrated Program in Management, IIM Indore (Graduated 2021)

I will seriously not recommend you to go for TIME. The first choice is PRATHAM if not then IMS.

The IIM paper is always tough and covers maximum mathematical questions. They are both difficult as well as time consuming.

Questions are never repeated in this paper. But if the study material and faculty is the same, what is actually different? The approach towards the exam and your attitude towards it.

Having a healthy approach is the key to crack this paper. You should not aim to excel, rather try to attain scores better than others.

Which one is better for a BBA: Amity University, Chandigarh, or LPU? How does the campus life vary in both?

A
Admin Posted On : May 28th, 2024

As a former student at LPU, I would suggest you choose LPU for a BBA. LPU has a high ranking, and it is a good private university in India. It is ranked 32nd among Management colleges in India by NIRF 2023.

Additionally, there are several options to pursue specialised BBA programs with industry collaborations and international credit transfer at LPU.

The best features of campus life at LPU are:

  • Entrepreneurial setting: LPU has incubation centres, capacity-building programs, mentoring facilities, etc. to encourage the students to build their own startups. The LPU website showcases hundreds of such startups by the university’s alumni.
  • Part-time Jobs: At LPU you’ll be allowed to work part-time jobs alongside your studies which is a unique feature unlike any college in India.
  • Career Enhance Programs: LPU undertakes several initiatives for enhancing the soft skills of students which will ultimately help in their career growth, along with language lab, personal counselling etc.

Thus, I would suggest you choose Lovely Professional University for a BBA.

How many mocks should be sufficient for the IPM IIM Indore exam?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : January 12th, 2023
Studies at Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (Expected 2025)

Mock exams are unquestionably the most crucial part of the IPMAT Indore exam preparation. If you carefully analyze each mock exam, about 25 to 30 would be enough to pass this one. You won't benefit from mocking someone just for the sake of mocking someone. In essence, you're just wasting your time if you don't spend two to three hours analyzing each mock. Accordingly, 1-2 months should be sufficient for you to comfortably administer and evaluate 30 mock exams.

By taking practice exams, be sure to come up with a winning strategy that will help you perform well on the real exam.

Can I study a distance education BBA with Madurai Kamaraj University Is it a reputed institute?

SG
Shivani Ghose Posted On : October 6th, 2021
Studied at Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu, India

MKU Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) offers many distance UG and PG courses. One of them is B.B.A. The B.B.A. specializations are general, computer applications, and retail. But it is not advisable to pursue an administration course or skillful course through DDE. You will never get benefitted. It is better to seek a regular course.

Also, MKU degrees are unreliable. The university is involved in backdated admissions, malpractices in examinations, and other unprofessional conduct.

Should one take the IPM course at IIM Rohtak considering the fact that it will the first batch of IPM and IIM Rohtak is not one of the top 20 institutes? What do you think RoI?

AP
Ashutosh Pandey Posted On : August 2nd, 2021
Studies IPM at IIM Rohtak (2021)

The IPM course at IIM Rohtak started only a few years back. Here is what you should know before applying.

  • The professors are highly professional and experienced. This program can be new, but the professors still greatly handle students.
  • The work ethic usually followed at the institute does not differentiate in any case whatsoever. This means, the gap between postgraduate students, and undergraduate students are allegedly bridged on the very first day. The professors treat undergraduate students equally as postgraduate students.

When coming down to the ROI, the future at the institute is quite promising. One of my cousins, who is a recent alumnus, does not regret being part of IIM Rohtak at all. The course structure is eclectic and highly competitive, which makes it compelling to learn.

When we compare a reputed BBA college, i.e. SCMS Pune with IIM Rohtak. The fees of SCMS Pune can range up to 3 Lakhs or more, and the combined accommodation is not usually lesser than 1.5 Lakhs to 2 Lakhs per annum for a hostel of minimal charges. Given the structure, IIM Rohtak generally takes 5 Lakhs Per Annum as well, in the first three years, which is essentially good for its cause and exposure.

Will I be able to take UPSC after first 3 years of the IIM Indore’s IPM course?

VJ
Veer Jain Posted On : June 7th, 2023
Studied at Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2019)

Yes, after finishing the first three years of the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) program at IIM Indore, you will be eligible to sit for UPSC.

After completing 3 years in the IPM course, you will be given a UG degree in Management Studies (BMS).

After earning your BMS degree, you have the option of pursuing a management career or studying for the UPSC to enter public service. IPM program offers a strong foundation in general studies that might be helpful for studying for the UPSC, even though it is primarily focused on those who wish to pursue a career in management.

It's important to note that the UPSC is quite difficult and competitive and that it requires extensive study and effort. If you're thinking of appearing at UPSC, you should start studying as soon as possible and stick to a strict study schedule.
