Most students try to get a clinical rotation in the USA. This helps them develop contacts and references required for USMLE. John Hopkins is a very expensive university and not everyone can afford education there. Many rich students faced issues getting into a residency program.
2 things determine your chances of getting a residency spot at John Hopkins
Having a good local personal reference is cherry on the top. Most of my acquaintances managed to get into residency without any rotation by just clearing the exam on the first attempt.
I cannot comment on how the students who dropped a few years are doing currently but yes I can tell you that there certainly are students who managed to make it into AIIMS even after taking drop years. This requires a lot of determination.
Firstly, there is no certainty that taking a drop year will assure a seat the next year. In fact, going to the same syllabus once again is going to be tough and will take a toll on you. It is a courageous decision. Moreover, when you will look at your friends who have started their M.B.B.S. the sense of failure might take over you. For some, this might be a sense of motivation though. So it’s best to analyze if you are ready for the drop and the consequences.
Coming to real-life examples, I have some friends who have taken 3-4 years drop and made it into top medical colleges but not AIIMS. It was their hard work and dedication that made them stronger and not give up.
I suggest you not be adamant about AIIMS and keep all options open. That will not limit your opportunities and you will make it through somehow.

Considering the fact that AIIMS Raebareli is a relatively newly established AIIMS, unlike AIIMS Delhi, it is obvious that the academics, facilities, campus exposure, fests, and events are not the same in both institutes. The facilities, academics, and campus life are way better at AIIMS Delhi. The institute hosts various events, fests, and cultural activities, unlike AIIMS Raebareli which is slowly growing popular and still struggling to achieve it. However, it wouldn’t be fair and logical to compare a newly established institute like AIIMS Raebareli with AIIMS Delhi, the best medical college in India, in terms of student life and campus exposure.
Being an AIIMS, there is no doubt that AIIMS Raebareli has quite good campus infrastructure and facilities compared to other government colleges and a few AIIMS as well. The lush green campus is supported by well-maintained hostels with spacious rooms and good furniture. AIIMS Raabareli hostels are quite good in terms of facilities provided and the mess also serves good quality food with proper hygiene. Within the campus, the institute also offers a lot of facilities for recreational purposes, such as a well-furnished common room with a TV, all indoor and outdoor games, a gym, etc. Given the fact that it is still developing, AIIMS Raebareli doesn’t have any major fests and events as of now.
AIIMS M.Sc Biophysics course is a 2-year master's level course. Here are some relevant details about it.
