No, there isn't any university that accepts rubbish answers and neither does MAKAUT give marks if you write poor answers in your semester exams.
My friend also had the same notion and she gave her exams at MAKAUT ver carelessly filling the blank spaces with poor content almost irrelevant to the questions. She ended up failing in that particular subject which further confirmed that MAKAUT does not accept irrelevant answers. However, it's recommended to attempt all questions and write anything vaguely related to the question because sometimes the questions come to be wrong and you end up getting marks just for attempting.
So you need to denounce the mindset that writing anything in the MAKAUT exams is acceptable and will get you marks nevertheless.
MAKAUT recently removed the concept of year back so you can't get a year back in MAKAUT. Students are required to clear the backs in all the subjects which they were not able to pass to get their degree irrespective of the number of attempts it takes.
So, if you fail an exam in the last year, you'll have to wait 6 more months to take the exam in case you were not able to clear special exams for the 7th and 8th sem which are usually conducted to save time for students. Similarly, you will have to wait for a year if the same happens in the 8th sem re-exam.
However, you can rest your worries in place as the examiners check last year's papers very leniently and even give grace marks in the last 2-semester re-exams.
From my personal experience of studying B.Tech at MAKAUT, here are some tips for freshers at this college-
These are some tips from my end. I hope you follow them and have a memorable time at MAKAUT.
Here are a few simple steps you need to follow in order to get a MAKAUT migration certificate online.
You will receive the soft copy within 3 days and for the hard copy, you will have to visit the university personally.
No, there aren't any good results of PPS in MAKAUT and that being said, I would recommend you to go for PPR(Post Publication Review) instead. In PPS(Post Publication Scrutiny) only your marks are recalculated to check for any errors and there are very less chances of calculation errors as the total is verified in 2–3 levels of the checking process.
However, in the case of PPR, all your answers are rechecked. Hence. The chances of getting your marks increased are higher in the case of PPR than in PPS. In fact, many students who fail the exams, apply for PPR and surprisingly enough, they pass after PPR.
Honestly speaking, the level of semester exams at MAKAUT is so easy that the majority of the students just study the night before and manage to score an 8 CGPA. Many of you will not like my answer but this is my personal experience.
The strategy adopted by my friends at MAKAUT is:
After adopting this strategy, my friend was able to easily secure an 8 CGPA. So we can say that the level of difficulty is moderate and just clarification of basic concepts can get you an 8+ CGPA at MAKAUT.
On average, the difficulty level of semester exams at MAKAUT is 3 out of 5.
MAKAUT's in-house campus is an affordable government technical college that has only IT and CSE for the engineering branch. Earlier I had this preconceived notion that government colleges are better than private ones which later proved to be wrong once I got to know about MAKAUT in-campus college. However, it is true that your skills and dedication matter more than the institute that being said, here are a few pros and cons of the institute to help you make a wise decision
Pros
Cons
If you have no financial constraints IEM or Heritage are better options else KGEC and MAKAUT in-house campus are the only options with low fees.
The level of difficulty of the first-year exams at MAKAUT depends on your college largely. MAKAUT assigns a lot of marks on internals and lab papers. These marks are determined by the individual departments.
A friend shared her experience and told me that she didn't study initially and got 7.63 in 1st semester. She started studying the next semester and after that, she never scored less than 8. In fact, in the 5th,6th, and 7th semesters, she scored 9.
What she concluded was that getting an 8+ CGPA at MAKAUT is rather easy and all you need is clarity of basic concepts and familiarity with the pattern of questions that come. You can determine roughly how much you need to score in every paper to get an 8 CGPA.
Getting good grades is certainly helpful but grades alone cannot shape your career. You need to acquire skills and knowledge to meet industry demands.
My friend faced a similar issue when she sent her transcripts to WES and right then the rules changed. She lost all hope but soon the transcripts were being sent to the university. Illogically enough, students had to send each document as a separate courier and not together. After waiting for a very long time, her transcripts finally made it to WES on time. Fortunately, MAKAUT sends it through DHL Express, and all her efforts paid off in the end.
No, CSE at MAKAUT is not considered anywhere near good given its obsolete curriculum and pedagogy. The subjects taught have no relevance in today’s age and do not match the industry's needs. The situation of practical labs is pathetic and the infrastructure of the institute is deteriorating day by day.
The marking system of the exams conducted here does nothing to evaluate your knowledge of intellect. It just judges your capability to fill the maximum number of pages you can.
Ultimately, it’s the students that make the college more than anything so your college experience here will depend on your batchmates. Nothing can stop you from achieving great heights if you are determined to work hard and succeed.
