Firstly, you should know that IIIT UNA is a new college and although it has the IIIT tag, it hasn't been ranked by any esteemed Ranking platforms like NIRF. Its classes are also facilitated by NIT Hamirpur's faculty and the campus and faculty are nice.
As far as NSIT is concerned, it ranks #76 on the NIRF ranking portal for engineering and has a better location in Delhi than Hamirpur, because of the facilities and professional opportunities available.
Here are some more pointers to help you understand better -
Here's a table on the placement scenario-

Lastly, decide according to your future goals and whether you'd like to pursue CSE or instrumentation.
There is no surety that you will be placed in a good company. It only depends upon your capability and your hard work. You will have to look for the companies and talk to the placement department as well.

If you are only concerned about placements then you should opt for IIIT Guwahati. This institute offers a rich coding environment. Their first-year students won a robotics competition organized by IIIT Guwahati. The faculty members of this institute are supportive and they will encourage you to participate in various competitions.
IIIT Una is a new institute when compared to other institutes. However, if you have started competitive coding, then it’s a plus point. To ace the placements, you must become the best in coding.
One of my friends is currently enrolled for the 2022 batch at IIIT UNA. He has completed two years already with a rank below 30,000 and he got into CSE, if you have a rank between 30-36k then you won't have many other options available.
He had the option to choose between Thapar Institute of Technology, IIIT UNA, and UIET Chandigarh, and unfortunately, the choice of IIIT UNA was a regrettable decision. Firstly it does not have a good rank; secondly, you may see why as follows-
Lastly, I'd like to highlight the placement scenario as the placement cell clearly states that they are not responsible for the placement provision. Only CSE and IT departments receive some companies, for ECE there are only coding jobs available.
So, Thapar Institute of Technology and UIET Chandigarh are much better in terms of opportunities provided, college life, and alumni support.
In all honesty, it is determined by the pace of work at your institute. There is a slight chance that the majority of your degree will not be completed on your home campus, but it is highly unlikely that you will complete four years away from home.
Again, it is more dependent on the speed with which the government grants clearances to your institute.
Here is a brief overview of each one of them that might help you choose the best.
IIIT Bhubaneswar: It has been recognized as an International Institute of Information Technology, where the first 50% of the seats are primarily reserved for the Odisha category, while the other 50% is decided upon the JEE Mains. The placement is comparably the same as IIIT Vadodara and in terms of infrastructure, it is largely adequate too.
IIIT Vadodara: The campus is as of now temporarily functioning at GEC Gandhinagar, Gujarat. However, it still has a very reputed technical culture surrounding students, as well as the placements, are continually hiking each year. It is proof of how it is rapidly growing. The hostels of the institute are extremely good, as opposed to most of the other IIITs.
IIIT Una: It was established after IIIT Vadodara. It is at present functioning from NIT. It, unfortunately, has poor transportation facilities.
Nonetheless, for a better idea, here is a brief highlight of each institute’s placement stats for the year 2020.

Given the clear image of each institute above, you should now choose wisely to decide further. It is suggested that you still run a check on other latest important aspects of each institute.
All three IIITs are established by MHRD and offer an excellent education to students.
Fee and Placement details of the institutes are as follows.
Criteria | IIIT Vadodara | IIIT Kurnool | IIIT Una |
Fee | INR 7.83 Lakhs | INR 5.24 Lakhs | INR 7.91 Lakhs |
Average CTC | INR 6.59 LPA | INR 4.5 LPA | INR 4.5 LPA |
Highest CTC | INR 30 LPA | INR 4.5 LPA | INR 13.5 LPA |
Out of all the above, IIT Vadodara offers the best returns on investment (ROI). Also, the placement percentage of the institute is 100%. The companies that visit the campus are Coviam, ICICI Bank, Innovaccer, Amazon, Matlab, Paytm, Coding Ninjas, TCS, Capillary Technologies, and more.
In conclusion, IIIT Vadodara offers a lot of opportunities to learn and grow with your field choice. Among the three options, IIIT Vadodara will be the best choice.
I have a few friends from IIIT Una, so I think I can give you some insights about the institute.
IIIT Una a newly established institute and is monitored by NIT Hamirpur. Both share the same campus, classes, hostels, etc. But they have separate placements.
Based on what I heard from my friend I will say it is not wise to choose such a new institute. But the decision is yours. Here are some parameters based on which you can judge the institute.
Here is a brief outline of the two institutes.

I have a friend who is an alumnus of IIIT Una and here is what he had to say about the placements.
IIIT Una started from NIT Hamirpur campus as its temporary campus and its first batch graduated in the year 2018 only. This first batch faced a lot of difficulties because even though they were treated equally with the NIT Hamirpur’s students for the four years academically, during the placements most of the companies did not allow IIIT Una students to appear for the placement process.
Even the placements were handled by NIT Hamirpur as IIIT Una did not have its own placement committee. But the companies were hesitant to recruit IIIT Una’s students. Many companies did not have IIIT Una in their list of colleges to visit as they have a strict pre-defined policy for the same. So most of the companies were out of bounds for IIIT Una students. However, there were some companies who did allow them and the students grabbed the opportunities.
Next year onwards, IIIT Una build its own placement committee and became independent from NIT Hamirpur for placements. So expectedly they are better than before.
IT at IIIT Una is better than CS at KNIT Sultanpur. The reasons for the same are given below.
It is advisable to talk to some of the current as well as recent alumni of both the institutes to know the exact state of the colleges and their placement records. IIIT Una is still very new and evolving. KNIT is also a good option but looking at other things and the future growth potential IIIT Una should be preferred.
It entirely depends on your interest.
In the following table, you will get basic information about IT at IIIT Una and chemical engineering at HBTU Kanpur which will help you in comparing these two institutes.

One of my friends studied at HBTU Kanpur so I can give you the review of the chemical entering branch at HBTU.
HBTU Kanpur Chemical engineering branch has a good reputation and is a well-known branch in HBTU. Its department is also better than other engineering colleges of India.
The placement of the Chemical Engineering branch of HBTU is decent. There are other departments too in the chemical engineering branch such as OT, Food, PL, PT, etc, that have similar placements and hold a good record in placing students in reputed companies.
