The PGP-HRM program at IIM Indore is well known for being an inaugural of innovative programs. The duration of the program is 2 years comprising 6 terms.

During the Placement Season 2022-23 of IIM Indore, the fourth batch of PGP HRM at IIM Indore welcomed a large number of recruiters from diverse sectors. In all, 20 recruiters offered roles to the students of IIM Indore’s 2023 Batch of PGPHRM. The total intake this year was 38 students only. • BFSI : The main recruiters of this domain were Hero Fincorp, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
• Consulting : The next top domain was Consulting and companies like Deloitte USI, EXL Service, Capgemini, and Willis Towers Watson recruited students in this domain.
• Manufacturing: The top recruiters in the Manufacturing domain were Vedanta and Nuvoco Vistas. 
• Miscellaneous: Other top recruiters included GAIL(PSU), Biocon, Crompton Greaves and Winzo.

Yes, it's true that NMIMS's average salary is above INR 16 LPA. In the 2023 MBA placements of NMIMS, around 36% of the batch were placed through PPOs. The first batch of the Summer Placement process for the PGP class of 2024 consisted of five domains namely investment banking and markets, management consulting, niche consulting, cards and financial advisory, and private equity, venture capital & asset management.

On adjusting the PPP (purchasing power parity), one finds that IIMA graduates earn one of the highest packages in the world, on average. Their packages are at par with other top institutions of the world like Harvard, Booth School and INSEAD.

The living expenses in the US are 5 times higher compared to India. This must be taken into account when comparing the placement packages of Harvard with IIM Ahmedabad. 

An average graduate from IIMA enjoys the same standard of living as that from prestigious foreign institutions like Harvard or UC’s Booth school. Even the highest packages of graduates from all these renowned foreign colleges are at par with those of IIMA students. 

Here are a few interesting behind-the-scenes stories about IIM Bangalore placements that I came across from interaction with my friend who is an alumnus of IIT Bangalore. 

The initial 2 days witness the heaviest crowds as the maximum number of students are placed in very little time. The students end up giving consecutive interviews until they are selected. As a result, students sometimes have no idea about what they are interviewing and just appear for the sake of it. In a very hilarious incident, a student started praising Ola in an Uber interview.

The GD day is even more hectic as students can sometimes be seen attending GDs from the morning till midnight. In these GDs, you will find people of all kinds. While some will rarely speak, some can be seen shouting and dominating others in the groups. You will see tired bodies moving around and some even crying because of poor performance.

The placement process is completely handled by students under teams called trackers. You will spot groups of trackers huddled together and discussing important issues.

NIT Trichy does not release official branch-wise statistics so I contacted my friends there to get an idea of the salary offered to Electrical Engineering students from NIT Trichy. The first friend claimed the placement percentage of the branch to be around 92.4% with the highest salary package offered at around 45 LPA and the average salary package offered in the range of 6.5 LPA-20 LPA. He claimed that the top recruiting companies were Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and DE Shaw.

Another friend offered a similar insight into the placement scenario of Electrical Engineering at NIT Trichy. He claimed the highest package to be 40 LPA whereas the lowest salary package offered to be around 5 LPA, and the average salary package around 10 LPA. He further stated that 60-70% of students were offered internships. 

It’s important to note that Electrical Engineering students are not placed only in the core sector but also in the software, marketing, and digital graphic sector. So ultimately the salary one will be receding depends upon one's capability, skills, and interests.

According to NALSAR placements 2020 highlights, the median CTC for BA LLB students was INR 16.50 LPA. The median CTC for LLM students was INR 8.50 LPA. During NLSIU Bangalore placements 2020, the participating firms offered salary packages in the range of INR 15 LPA to INR 18 LPA. 

So, as an entry level associate, you will be earning in the range of INR 15-17 LPA.
