What is the difference between Grant-aid and self-financed admission in Fergusson college in pune? Which option is to be selected?
One of my friends graduated from Fergusson College and here is her insight regarding grant-aid and self-finance admission.
- Grant aid- The course fee is less. The required cutoff for admission is high. The peer group is great. Classes are in the early morning. The faculties are also great.
- Non-grant- Course fee is more. The required cutoff is less than the Grant aid category. Classes take place in the afternoon. The Peer group and faculty base are good.
So, Govt. aids a specific number of students with higher scores by paying a part of their course fee. However, since the institute has more intake capacity there exists a non-grant category. For which course fee is a little higher.
As for which will be best, you should decide that.
Which is a better option for studying Economics, Fergusson College in Pune or Loreto College in Kolkata?
As one of my friends studied in Loreto College Kolkata, let me share some facts about it:
- Loreto College is one of the reputed institutions in Kolkata.
- It is famous for its English and Humanities department, but Economics is also brilliant here as well.
- There are a lot of seminars, the most prominent being Ecolore which is the department's annual event.
- The teachers are very helpful and cordial.
If you want to pursue Economics, Loreto College will not disappoint you.
How is the psychology department of Fergusson College Pune?
A senior of mine has passed out from the department of Psychology from Fergusson College Pune. He mentioned some things about the college, which might give you a clear idea about it.
- The faculties of the department are the best ones under a new head of department.
- The new head of department brought in various changes in the whole system.
- Fergusson College Pune has some really good experienced teachers who are respected among the society.
- The institute is autonomous therefore it is up to date with new syllabus, courses.
- Being an autonomous college, students can choose whatever subject they want and accordingly remove subjects and skip them.
- The enlisted undergraduate courses are great in terms of knowledge and placements.
Students choosing Psychology have gained a lot of experience in their respective field. They get to learn both theoretically and practically. Fergusson College is definitely recommendable and overall it’s a beautiful college.

What if I don't have TOEFL and PTE can I apply only with IELTS?
To get admission to any program at Conestoga College, you are required to have one of the following certificates related to English proficiency
- Diploma/Certificate: 6.0 IELTS Academic and 80 TOEFL
- Degree: 6.5 IELTS Academic and 88 TOEFL
- Graduate Certificate: Some IT/engineering program require 6.5 IELTS Academic and 88 TOEFL
Since all the 3 conditions require TOEFL, it’s not possible to get admission to Conestoga College without TOFEL.
Which is better for a BA in humanities: MSU Baroda or Fergusson Pune?
MSU Baroda is better compared to Ferguson College Pune. In terms of science courses, MSU is a well-known institution. And it is good in arts as well but Ferguson college is not as good as MSU. As a result, you should go with the MSU Baroda. MSU's main campus includes the Arts, Science, and Commerce faculties, the architecture department, the education and phycology faculty, the family and community science faculty, the fine arts faculty, and one or two other faculties.
Another point as far as the experiences of students say, is that MSU is strong in science, which improves the environment for art students. Ferguson College Pune also does not offer a BA in humanities
How can I get admission in Fergusson college?
Admission to Fergusson College is merit-based. You can apply for admission by visiting the official website of the institute. For UG courses the selection is based on merit and according to the rules of the university. For PG courses, admission is either based on past academic performance or entrance examination score.
When will the admission process starts for msc 2022?
Fergusson College hasn’t released the admission notification for M.Sc courses yet. According to the academic calendar of last year, classes for MSc courses commence from the last week of August. What is the cut off for b voc course in Ferguson college pune?
As per the admission trends of last few years, you should have around 75% of marks in 10+2 for B.Voc. from Ferguson College Pune.
It offers two B.Voc. courses in Media & Journalism and Digital Media and Animation. You can apply for these courses if you have completed 10+2 or equivalent. The selection process is completely merit-based.
