How do I get VTU marks card degree certificate attested and how many days does it take Can we get it done in Bangalore?

RC

I have a few friends from VTU and according to them, there are three ways to get this.

By Hand at VTU Belagavi: Go to the Examination Section of VTU Belagavi. Fill out the required paperwork and pay the fee by 12:30 p.m. to receive your documents by 4:30 p.m.

By Post: Go to VTU's website and download the application form, fill it and make online fee payment. Mail the application, fee payment acknowledgment, along with attested documents by post to VTU's Registrar (Evaluation). Documents will be mailed to the address you provided in your application. This can take anything from 7 to 14 days.

Manually at VTU Regional Center, Bengaluru: VTU Regional Center, Bengaluru accepts applications for selected documents. Application forms and fee payments are normally made at nearby Cyber Centers, but instead of sending them to VTU Belagavi by post, you can follow step 2 above and hand in the application at VTU Regional Center. After roughly 8–10 days, you must personally pick up the documents at VTU Regional Center.

Here are some of the things that you should keep in mind.

  • Online payments are only accepted through the SBI payment link on the VTU website. Cash or DD are not accepted.
  • Only the Degree Certificate is issued by VTU to autonomous college students; all other documents, like grade cards, PDCs, and so on, are issued by the autonomous college itself.
  • Only if the degree certificate has not yet been issued can a PDC be issued. Because degree certificates are granted during convocation, which normally takes place in January or February each year, one should not register for PDC after convocation.
  • Degree certificates can be collected in person on the day of the convocation at VTU Belagavi, and you will not have to wait for them to be mailed to you.

Hope this answers your doubts.

B.E ,Mtech Civil Engineering & Urban Planning, Visvesvaraya Technological University (2016)

asYou should first file a police complaint regarding your missing marks cards, they will give you a complaint copy. After that, you can apply for your duplicate copy.

  • Visit VTU website - VTU Online fees payment, you will find the form for duplicate marksheet.
  • You need to pay INR 600 per semester for duplicate marks cards. You need to make the payment online, by using the SBI link on the website.
  • Fill out the form. Enclose the fees receipt with your application. You also need to include the original FIR and an original affidavit on stamp paper of ?20, mentioning the details of USN, Name, semester, month and year of examination of the marks card lost and requesting the concerned authority for the issue of a duplicate of the same. If the original copy is found after the duplicate is issued, it needs to be returned to VTU.

Enclose the form, fees receipt, FIR, and affidavit in an envelope and send it to VTU. You can also visit VTU, by yourself.

Why is VTU called the worst university?

NL
Neha Lal, Posted On : November 9th, 2021
studied at Visvesvaraya Technological University (2017)

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is not considered the worst university but surely has many flaws. These include the following:

  • The syllabus is more than a decade old and the rate at which technology and science are growing, VTU is failing to catch up.
  • The evaluation process is very poor. There is a very high chance that your marks will increase every time you apply for revaluation.
  • VTU is one of the largest universities in India with 212 colleges affiliated with it. Most of the colleges have below-average laboratories, campus facilities, research centers, and poor placements.
  • Students graduating from these institutes score less marks and thus lose placement opportunities.
  • VTU’s standard of faculty is really low.

One of the things that bother aspirants is the reservation system. If you are an SC/ST belonging to the state of Karnataka then you have no problem in getting a good college with little effort through CET. If you are a general candidate then everything depends on your work.

How can I get a migration certificate from VTU? What are the details and signatures required on the form?

RS

According to the information I got online, if your college is affiliated then you just have to fill the migration application form that is provided on the VTU website and then fill in all the details.

In the last line forwarded to VTU registrar ”...this is to certify…” you can either ask your new college academic person to fill it.

Or ask your college a bonafide certificate or study certificate and pin that with the application form alongwith the e-payment SBI fee receipt.

Get your degree certificate / provisional degree certificate attested from any gazetted officer by showing them the original copy.

Then post the whole document by speed post to the address mentioned on the website of VTU that is to the registrar.

After receiving your post they will transfer the migration certificate to your new college.

How difficult is VTU in India?

SG
Sakshi Gupta Posted On : September 29th, 2021
Studied at Visvesvaraya Technological University

It's as difficult as it gets. In the second year, more than half of students have a backlog.

If you are an outsider, you will have to deal with some unpleasant situations as well; you will not receive excellent internal marks, which are 25 points. Expect nothing from your teachers, but this is true throughout India.

Attendance should be at least 75%. Only a few colleges have severe standards, while others are more lenient. Attendance should not be taken lightly; lack of attendance might result in semester detention, even in the seventh semester. Students fail practical exams here as well, and backlogs are common. You never know what's going to happen.

Regardless of these factors, I recommend that you go for VTU, just remember that you are here to study; you can do other fun things in addition to studying, but you must not neglect study at any cost.

In VTU, you can’t score well by studying just the night before the examination. You will have to study regularly. If you study hard during the semester, your marks will be good.

To get a good grade, you need to do well in both the internal and practical exams. Then you can only obtain a 60% in the semester; to get a higher grade, you must do well on the final exam. It is difficult to achieve a score of more than 70 out of 100 on an external exam.

Marking method for VTU:

  • Internal marks: 25 (assume it's an A)
  • Passing grade=50, which equals A+B.

When thinking about passing grades, If you obtain a 0 in internal, you must score 50 in external. Similarly, if your internal score is 15, you must get 35.

Is it true that SJCE Mysore being converted to JSS science and technological university has degraded the value of the college since the degree is not under VTU?

RT
Reema Tandon, Posted On : October 20th, 2021
B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysuru (2021)

SJCE conversion to JSS has not degraded the value of the course or the degree. These are said to be rumors spread by rival institutions. Let me share some of the facts which might clear your views regarding the institution.

  • The placements are not affected as notable companies keep on visiting the campus. SJCE has maintained a good relationship with the companies
  • The institute sets its own syllabus, which is industry-oriented unlike that of VTU which is not usually updated.
  • SJCE is known for its brand, the name is not removed from the degrees and is often mentioned by recruiters in India and abroad.
  • The degree programs are accredited by NBA and the degree awarded by the University is recognized by countries that have signed the Washington accord. So, while applying for PG in other countries, your degree has its value.
  • It follows the OBE system and has 5 events per subject which are similar to the model followed by foreign universities, unlike VTU who still follows the age-old internals concept.

It is suggested that you do not go by rumors spread by rival institutions. You can definitely put your trust in SJCE, as it stands strong as one of the notable educational institutions in Karnataka.

What are the best books for the 1st semester CSE at VTU?

RG
Raunak Gupta Posted On : September 29th, 2021
BE Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University (2016)

You don't start the CSE syllabus right away in the first year. Math, electronics core topics, English, and other subjects are common. You should read the foreign writers suggested for applied math and sciences. Foreign books usually go into great detail about a topic and are of far higher quality than local publications. I would advise you to use them for your preparation.

Here are some of the recommended books.

For chemistry cycle-

  • Math 1 - Chandrashekhar
  • Chemistry - BS Jaiprakash
  • CCP - Padma Reddy
  • Caed - K R Gopalkrishna
  • Basic Electronics - Godse and Bakshi

For Physics Cycle-

  • Math 2 - Chandrashekhar
  • Physics - SP Basavaraju
  • Civil - Bhavikatti
  • Mechanical - KR Gopalkrishna
  • Basic Electrical - MV Rao

For CPP, your college will help you out with the notes. These are the authors that you can refer to during your 1st year. There is no need to refer to any books for EVS.

How are ranks and gold medals awarded by Visvesvaraya Technological University VTU for a B.E. course What should we do to achieve them?

MS
Meenu Singhal Posted On : October 1st, 2021
Studied B.E. Mechanical Engineering,Visvesvaraya Technological University (2017)

My friend graduated from Visvesvaraya Technological University with a gold medal. She ranked amongst the top ten students with the highest aggregate in CS.

It is calculated by the average of total marks of the last four semesters. A Gold medal becomes a dream if you fail in any of the subjects.

There are 2 types of Gold medals are of two types:

  • Merit Gold medal is given to those with the highest aggregate in their major/branch.
  • Endowment Gold medals are sponsored in different categories like for bright students of different categories and gender-based distribution.

Getting a gold medal is not impossible. Follow 2-3 additional books, study throughout the year and understand the core engineering and mathematical concepts. Internal assessments should be taken seriously as well. Be clear in your intentions and don't budge because there'll be distractions, but you can make your mark if you will it.

I have done my B E from VTU and my aggregate is 52 I had many backlogs What is a way to calculate my VTU percentage if anyone had backlogs?

GW

The aggregate marks do not carry much importance as they are the passing marks you scored in all semesters. Don't worry about backlogs that much. Calculate your marks after clearing them.

Now, degree percentage is different at every university, and VTU will calculate your score based on your performance from 5th-8th semesters and show that on your degree.

However, the good news is that outside VTU, you should state your overall percentage which is your actual percentage.

Can we change the internal marks of a failed subject at VTU?

YG
Yuvika Gayen, Posted On : November 9th, 2021
B.E. from Visvesvaraya Technological University (2017)

Yes, you can change internal marks if you are writing the back paper in the next semester’s exams. Internal marks are sent to VTU before the results are declared and the college displays the marks allotted to be cross-checked for any errors before sending the finalized marks.

Students can take up the internals and increase the marks before appearing for a second attempt.

But if you are applying for external revaluation and want some increase in internal marks, that is not possible.
