Yes, indeed. Amrita University offers a degree in Aerospace Engineering, but it has branches spread almost at several places around India. And, the best branch of Amrita University among all is the one at Coimbatore.
In terms of a grand infrastructure and a place that provides such a brilliant standard of quality education to students, Amrita University, Coimbatore is the one you should choose for Aerospace Engineering.
I would recommend you to take some prior experience on the subject of Aerospace Engineering.
I know some people from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham so I think I can give you some idea about it.
M.Tech in Embedded Systems is a great course. As far as the choice between Bangalore and Coimbatore campuses is concerned, then without any doubt, Coimbatore campus is better between the two. Here are some details about the campuses.
Coimbatore Campus:
Bangalore Campus:
Considering all the points and knowing that Coimbatore is the original and the oldest campus of the two, the preference of the campuses should be Coimbatore.
Having known some people studying in both these institutes, I can say that Kalinga University (KU) is much better than Amrita University. Here are some points in support of this statement.
Categories | Kalinga University | Amrita University |
Course Fee | 6.19 lakh | 13.1 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 90% | 80% |
Highest CTC | 10-12 LPA | 12 LPA |
Average CTC | 6 LPA | 4 LPA |
Kalinga University also got 'A' grade by NAAC. The placements here are one of the best and the institute has been growing rapidly over the last few years.
It is quite unreachable and good faculty is not available too for teaching on time. My sister studies at one of the old NITs which are much better as far as networking and alumni support are concerned; they are better than the NIT you're enquiring about. Its ranking is not clearly available on major ranking platforms also.
Apart from this, you may want to note these down-
However, NIT is still in its developing phase, it has the potential to become as successful as its other namesakes but being new, permanent faculty is still to be recruited, some equipment is missing too, but being dedicated you might excel even there.
Now, I hope you'd understand that there are much better institutes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana like JNTUH, JNTUK, IIT Hyderabad, IIIT Hyderabad etc. Well-known companies would actually like to recruit from these institutions rather than from NIT AP.
There is nothing much special at the orientation day of Amrita University.
There will be a first come first serve procedure followed, so try to be there at the right time. Firstly they will check all your documents and then there will be an introductory speech by management about the rules and regulations, do's and don'ts and some information to the parents. They will also mention the parental portal through which they can monitor all your activities in the college like your attendance, your periodical marks, and semester grades.
They will also highlight the fact that there is no ragging in the college which is completely true. There are no such ragging scenes as shown in some movies as the seniors here are very friendly and supportive in nature. They will also tell the students to note down some helpline numbers and websites of Amrita.
The HOD and class advisor of every department will speak about their department and clarify all your doubts. And after all these, there will be complimentary lunch for everyone.
Hence, these are some of the activities which will be held at the orientation program of Amrita University where you will get to know about this university and get a glimpse of its culture and environment.
Comparably Anna University is better than Amrita University. It is a state government university and changes a lower course fee. The institute offers great academics. The university has a great alumni network. Anna University notable alumni list incudes name like A. P. J. Abdul Kalam- Former President of India & Bharat Ratna awardee, Venu Srinivasan - Chairman of Sundaram, Sujatha Rangarajan - Writer.
However, being a private university Amrita offers better infrastructure.
Amrita University is a deemed university whereas SSN is an autonomous institute in Chennai, affiliated with Anna University. I have friends in both universities and according to their first-hand experience, Amrita has a slight edge over SSN. While both colleges offer good quality education, here are some reasons why you should prefer Amrita University.
Overall, both the colleges are great in terms of education and facilities. However, Amrita University is the best choice when it comes to TNEA colleges except for Anna University, Guindy. At the end of the day, all that matters is your hard work and passion for the subject.
For CSE, Amrita Coimbatore is a better option. With an AEEE rank of 568, you can get your desired branch at the institute. Amrita offers excellent facilities and learning resources. The institute offers opportunities of doing a lot of mini projects within the course itself.
Compared to other colleges in the state more recruiting companies visit Amrita Coimbatore placements. According to the recent placement highlights, students received an average CTC of INR 5.8 LPA.
Amrita University has ranked 4th among the top engineering colleges by NIRF in 2020. Cochin University of Science and Technology has ranked 89th among the top engineering colleges by NIRF in 2020 and has been marked as an ‘A’ graded institution by NAAC.
Both these universities have several advantages and each one of them has evolved in their own ways over the years. Both of them offer good facilities to their students, which is why it can get difficult to choose either one of them. However, in order to get over the dilemma about which one would be perfect for you, go through these points which will eventually help you make the final call.

These are some of the major factors that you should be taking into consideration before making a decision about which one you would choose as your future institution.
Amrita University's main campus is in Coimbatore. The college states that rank and cut off for the different branches vary each year. At the time of seat allotment, students will be asked to select the preferred program.
It should be noted that Amrita University is only considering JEE Main session 1 scores. The decision will depend on rank obtained in JEE Main or AEEE and seats available on different campuses.
Cutoff:
The table below highlights the ranks for the CSE program at the three branches of Amrita University in 2017.

The table shows that students with 2582 rank in AEEE have a chance of getting the Amrita Puri campus with both the State and Open Quota. But the Coimbatore campus' CSE program requires a higher rank of 1831 in the Open Quota.
Students should keep the following in mind as well.

The counseling process was initiated by Amrita University on September 3, 2020.
Students get to clarify doubts during the first allotment and those who choose a program in any of the campuses have to pay INR 10,0000.
The Second Allotment is for those who opted for sliding and those who are below the last rank in the first allotment.
Important Points:
The counseling will be done through online mode.
Students must keep in mind that the selection will be based on eligibility, seat availability, category, merit, and rank.

Students must also note that the Amravati campus is not offering engineering programs for the year 2020. The Coimbatore campus is the main campus of Amrita University and has live-in labs, holds student exchange programs, and has more than 150 faculty members.
