Is a score of 87/200 good enough to get a seat at Manipal University?

SD
Subhasmita Dash Posted On : June 16th, 2021
B.Tech Biotechnology, Manipal University (2018)

The answer to this question is subjective. Whether you will get a seat or not depends on mainly two things, i.e. the campus you want to be a part of and the branch of your choice.

You might somehow secure a seat with 87/200 in the main campus which is at Manipal, Karnataka but I am afraid that you might not get any of the core branches. It is a different case if luck is on your side. But, there is an option which is, if you get selected, be it in any branch, the university lets you change your branch at the end of the first year depending upon your grades and vacancies available in the branch that you want to opt.

KS
Krishna Shrivastav Posted On : June 16th, 2021
MBA from Manipal University (2018)

My brother did his MBA from Manipal University and it has been one of the best decisions of his life. While both are prime universities, Manipal holds an edge due to the following reasons.

  • You will get the best-in-class faculties, infrastructure, and facilities that you won’t be able to get at Thapar.
  • In recent QS ranking 2020, Manipal University secured 17th rank all over India and 200th all over Asia, making it one of the top-ranked private universities in India.
  • Manipal University has also ranked way above the famous BHU (IIT BHU) in the World QS ranking 2021. Manipal university ranked #751-800 whereas BHU, and Thapar belonged to the same bracket of #801-1000.

Here are the 2020 placement trends in brief at Manipal.

Average CTC

7.2 LPA

Highest CTC

22.38 LPA

Total no of offers made

781

Major recruiters

E&Y, ITC, Microsoft, Dell, etc.

Overall, Manipal University is one of the top private institutions making it a great choice to pursue a computer science course.

Which college is the best in terms of college atmosphere, faculty, higher studies, internships and placements: RVCE, PES University or MIT Manipal?

MS
Mayank Sharma Posted On : March 16th, 2022
B.Tech Computer Science, PES University (2020)

Considering all factors like atmosphere, higher studies, faculty base, placements, internship, etc. PES University is better.

It offers an ideal environment for studies. The much-rumored strictness on campus is stereotyped. There are a few basic rules that you need to follow as a student, but these are manageable.

The campus is an amazing place to be in. There are many student-run societies and clubs in which you can take part.

It offers good placements and internship opportunities. PES University placements highlights of 2022 stats an average CTC of INR 6.5 LPA, and the highest CTC of INR 49.75 LPA

Which streams can I get in manipal university with a score of 110 in the entrance exam?

110 is definitely a good score and will fetch you a good number of streams. However, you won’t be able to get the main branches like Mechanical, Computer or EEE or ECE.

Some of the streams you can get at Manipal University with this score are

  • Automobile
  • Production
  • Chemical
  • Printing
  • Biotech
  • Aerospace
  • Media
  • Civil

However the actual statistics depend on the number of candidates appearing and many other factors.

Will I get a seat at Manipal University with 90/200?

VK
Vanshika Kukreja Posted On : July 17th, 2021
completed MBA in Finance & Operations Management, Department of Business Management, University of Calcutta in 2020

A friend of mine had a similar score and he got admission to Manipal University. I cannot give you assurance but there is a chance that you might get a seat with this score.

According to the previous cut-offs, the branches you may probably get are Mechanical, CSE, ECE, IT, CCE. You also have a chance of ending up in the EEE department. There is a small chance of bagging a seat in a final couple of rounds, however.

You can also give the university another shot, though. If you manage to obtain a score of 120 or higher, you run a high possibility of getting into branches that have more promise, other than the ones mentioned previously. You will also have more freedom to choose with a higher score.

How is the B.Tech biotechnology branch at Manipal University main campus?

SR
Sritama Ray Posted On : June 28th, 2021
B.Tech biotechnology from Manipal Institute Of Technology (2019)

Biotechnology is a budding branch that is good enough to get you working in the industry instead of the research field. The curriculum deals with industrial purposes like bioprocess engineering, design of industrial equipment,bio-reaction engineering, etc.

Despite the decent subject and scope, pursuing B.Tech biotechnology from Manipal University's main campus is not a wise thing to do. Here’s why

  • My cousin has just completed his B.Tech in Biotechnology from Manipal University's main campus.
  • According to his experience, the academics are great, the faculty is helpful, and the facilities are up to the mark.
  • But the major downfall is that the placement scenario is not good.
  • You have to accept the fact that you won’t get campus placement if you opt for this branch in Manipal University's main campus.
  • However, the branch has numerous opportunities once you step out of the campus, and you can grab various outside campus placement opportunities.

All in all, Manipal University's main campus provides good academics and learning experiences for the biotechnology branch. If you are interested in research, you can do a minor specialization in genetic engineering and pharmacy.

If you're considering choosing between Manipal Bangalore and CGC Landran for your studies, there are a few key points to keep in mind about the CGC Landran campus:

  • While the campus at CGC Landran may not be as large as Manipal, it offers a beautiful and peaceful environment with plenty of greenery, trees, and parks. This can be a great place to study and relax between classes.
  • CGC Landran has a strong reputation for placement, particularly for students in the CSE and MBA programs. If you're looking for strong job prospects after graduation, CGC Landran may be a good choice for you.
  • The faculty at CGC Landran are known for being friendly and approachable, but may not have as much experience as those at other institutions like Manipal.
  • CGC Landran offers well-equipped labs for students, although some of the systems may be older.
  • Each year, CGC Landran hosts an annual festival called PARIVARTAN, which is a two-day techno-cultural event. This can be a fun and engaging way to get involved with campus life and meet other students.
  • The campus at CGC Landran is known for being clean and fresh, with plenty of food options available including cafes, subways, and other shops.
  • CGC Landran also offers a variety of clubs and organizations for students to get involved with and explore their interests beyond academics.
  • One potential downside of CGC Landran is its attendance system, which can be strict and require regular monitoring of attendance. Students who fall below a certain attendance percentage may face difficulties with signing applications or other administrative tasks.
  • Finally, it's important to research and compare all of your options before making a decision about where to study. Keep in mind that CGC Landran is part of the Punjab Technical University system, which may offer additional resources and benefits.

In conclusion, if you're considering studying at CGC Landran, be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the campus and do your research before making a decision. Ultimately, the right choice for you will depend on your personal preferences, goals, and priorities.

Is Aligarh Muslim University good enough for a B.Tech, compared to private universities like VIT, SRM, Manipal and Thapar?

Dhrishti Tuli Posted On : February 6th, 2024

AMU is better than VIT, SRM, Manipal and Thapar in many respects. AMU offers top notch facilities like these private colleges, but its fees are way less in comparison.

Here are the goods and bads of joining AMU-

  1. AMU has very good placements for CS, Electronics and Electrical branches.
  2. The cost of study and hostels is extremely pocket friendly.
  3. The campus is great and very safe for girls.
  4. The faculty and infrastructure are both top notch. The CS and Electronics teachers have worked in the past for MNCs like Cisco and Microsoft.
  5. The library and book banks allow easy access to books for those who suffer from financial difficulties.
  6. The core branches (civil, mechanical and chemical) do not get core placement offers on campus. But one who knows his/her subjects well and has a good CPI, can easily acquire a good core job off campus. Core branches usually receive software related jobs offers during campus placements.
  7. Some freshers might feel a cultural shock at AMU, but they’ll eventually adapt to their new environment.

Aligarh Muslim University is a more reputable brand in comparison to private colleges, and its education is much more affordable. You must work hard and get a good rank to get admission into AMU.
