What is the comparison between IIFT and IIM Shillong?

Generally speaking, older business schools tend to have more and better opportunities than IIFT due to their larger alumni networks and longer histories of the establishment. Which one should be preferred IIM Shillong or SJMSOM?

It is recommended to speak with current students at the school of interest, avoiding the public relations committee as they may be biased, to better understand placement prospects for a particular profile. Which is a better college between SJMSOM and IIM Shillong?
IIM Shillong is the better college among these. The institute puts emphasis on hands-on learning. You will learn how to handle real-time issues. The coursework and teaching go well beyond classroom learning. IIM Shillong has made great strides in recent years in terms of facilities and infrastructure. It has an impressive placement record. IIM Shillong placements in 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 55.22 LPA. This year the major recruiters were Deloitte, DE Shaw, TATA Steel, etc.
Which is better among SJMSOM, IIM Shillong, and MDI Gurgaon for a GEM fresher?

The fees for this program are around INR 21.4 lakh per year, and the average salary package is around INR 23 lakh per year. One advantage of this business school is its location.
- IIM Shillong: Established in 2008, this business school has a batch size that is smaller than MDI but larger than SJSOM. The fees are lower than those of MDI, at around INR 19 lakh per year. While top consulting firms have started hiring from IIM Shillong, the location may be a disadvantage for some candidates.
What makes IIM Shillong special?

Is IIM tag really important in the long run? I have a call from NITIE (PGDIM), IIM Shillong and MDI (HR and IB, PGDM is a little waitlisted). What should be my order of preference?
Let me strike off IIM Shillong from your list of preferences. This is because no matter how well it is doing, it can never compare to the older IIMs and the recruiting companies know that very well. Now let’s look at the other two options.
NITIE: This option is a feasible one only if you are interested in Operations. I won’t suggest it for any other domain.
MDI Gurgaon: From the alumni base to location advantage, this B School has it all. Now that you have chosen your college, let’s discuss the domain you will be choosing. I will suggest you go for HR only if you are seriously passionate about it. If you are confused between HR and Operations, the best option is the IM course. The PGP-IM of MDI, Gurgaon is the best International management course in India. Its USP is its generic nature making it possible for you to start your career in any domain like marketing, finance, Consulting, or product management.
How is campus and hostel life at IIM Shillong?
IIM Shillong is a business school located in Meghalaya, India that is known for its diverse student body, opportunities for outside-the-classroom learning, and close-knit community. One of the advantages of studying at IIM Shillong is the small batch size, which allows for more interaction and networking among students.
