There are various kinds of facilities available for the students inside the campus and hostels of this university. And there is even a gym for both boys and girls in their respective hostels.
Hence, there are gyms available in both boys’ and girls’ hostels and the facilities and equipment available inside the gyms are very good. You can maintain your body and stay fit by doing a regular workout at these gyms.
A lot of my friends studied at Karunya University. According to them, Karunya University is very popular and reputed with great placement opportunities.
Hence, you can get easily selected in campus placements if you can maintain a good CGPA and possess very good knowledge and understanding of your subjects.
My cousin is currently in the second year of his course at Karunya University. This answer is based on his experience as a fresher at the university.
These are some of the things that you should know as a frasher.
To get the information about the holidays at Karunya University, you can easily check them by going through the holiday calendar that the University furnishes every year. If you don't have the holiday calendar, you can directly access it by visiting the website. The holiday calendar is available on the official website.
Particularly, in the odd semesters, the holidays were to be scheduled at the end of May and would continue until June end. While in the even semesters, the procedure goes like school holidays. In the month of Christmas, the holidays usually began from around 19th/20th December and would end till the first week of January.
I have a few friends from Karunya University and here are some of the information about the hostel facilities according to them.
Room:
The facilities of the hostel room of the Karunya University includes room for four students where there are two double-decker beds, four tables, four cupboards, and one mirror available. However, there is no TV provided in any room but there is a single TV available in the hostel for students to watch anything whenever they like to.
Food: The food that is being provided to the students at the hostel mess is quite good and hygienic.
Gym: There is a gym for students, where they have to pay just rupees 500 each semester and get access to every other piece of equipment available there.
Newspaper: The Hindu newspaper is provided daily in the hostel to be up to date with what’s happening in the world and around.
Shops: There are various shops available for the students as per the requirement such as:
Overall, the facilities at Karunya University hostels are good and you can happily stay there with the facilities available.
The entrance examination of Karunya University is not at all tough to crack. You just need to be thorough with the class 12th syllabus. General ethics might create a bit of a problem because of insufficient data, apart from that it is very easy. My brother wrote the test in 2016 and scored 326.
The selection process of the university is quite lenient. Try to secure a rank below 500, and you are good to go. There is nothing to panic about the test.
During the admission process, based on ranks the students are called. If you have a rank above 1200 then you might not get the department of your choice.
You can get admission to the CSE branch of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed University) formerly known as Karunya University by appearing for its entrance exam known as KEE.
You should have at least scored a minimum of 50% marks in your 12th standard without which you will not be given admission.
If you want, you can visit the college, talk with some authorities and you can get a branch of your choice. It is quite easy to get admission here.
The entrance examination conducted by Karunya University is not that difficult. My friend scored 80 marks in the JEE Main examinations. The syllabus includes a few additional topics that are not included in the curriculum of classes 11th and 12th in the Indian education system.
He attempted the examination and started with the section of mathematics. After he attempted a few questions from the mathematics sections, he moved to the physics section. He was not able to crack the solutions for many of the questions from the section of physics. However, He still kept trying and successfully solved around 70 percent of the questions from Physics. For his set, the section of Chemistry was extremely difficult. He attempted 50% of the questions from the Chemistry section.
The next section he attempted was of logical reasoning. He solved all the questions from this section leaving out around 1-2 questions. Then he continued his examination with the Ethics section. He answered 2 questions out of 10 and from them one was a guess.
He found the examination to be pretty easy. He later found out from someone that only students who have secured a rank above 1000 in the examination would be considered for the admission process of the university.
As one of my friends studied B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya University, I might not be able to tell you much about biotechnology, but can provide a general overview of the institute.
Categories | B.Tech in Biotechnology at Karunya University |
Course Fee | 7.24 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 60% |
Highest CTC | 17 LPA |
Average CTC | 4.3 LPA |
Median CTC | 3.5 LPA |
If you have the determination and the motivation with a clear goal, then you can succeed at any university and not just at Karunya University.
I don’t know if the club still exists but my suggestion would be the ‘Toast Master’s Club”. It will help you polish out your leadership skills. My brother was a part of this club during his time at the institute.
There are also lots of student clubs under the ACE (Association of Computer Engineers) like the Programming club, App development club, networking club, machine learning club, etc.
You can also pursue your hobbies through various other clubs like Journalism club, Photo, and Video club, KALA, Food and Nutrition Club, Astronomy club, etc.
I would suggest you take part in everything that you are passionate about. Do not spend your university life just studying or sitting in the room and watching movies and shows; get involved in everything. These things help you in making relationships, gain confidence, and the ability to stand out. A good GPA looks good on papers but this builds you as a person.
