To get admission in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program at the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Gwalior, you need to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam for admission to various engineering programs in India.
The cutoff marks for IIITM Gwalior's CSE program vary from year to year and depend on several factors such as the number of candidates appearing for the exam, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of seats available in the program.
However, in general, to have a good chance of getting admission to the CSE program at IIITM Gwalior, you should aim to score at least 200-220 marks or above in the JEE Main. This is just an estimate, and the actual cutoff may vary depending on the above-mentioned factors.
It is important to note that admission to IIITM Gwalior's CSE program is highly competitive, and you need to perform well in both the JEE Main as well as in the counseling process to secure a seat in the program.

Those interested must thoroughly research and learn about both the institutes and then arrive at an informed decision as to which one will be the best for them. It depends on one’s academic merit and disposition and is a completely personal choice.
Here is some information to assist you in choice-making-
Snapdeal, Amazon, Google, etc. visit IIEST Shibpur and offer equal placement opportunities to both IT and CSE students. My roommate from IT got into Snapdeal through campus placement.
IEM isn’t a well-known college. It is a local college unlike IIEST, which is an institute of national importance. The campus size of IEM is very small. Big companies don’t usually visit small colleges like IEM.
The college tag has a value of its own. Besides, the opportunities and exposure offered by IIEST are immense.
Thus, I would recommend you opt for IT at IIEST Shibpur.
IIT Indore CSE placements are great and this year too the branch managed to secure 100% placements. The average package stood at INR 30.32 LPA while the highest stood at INR 48.5 LPA which was the second highest after Electrical. The top companies visiting the campus are
IIT Indore has the best placement scenario among the new IITs and the credit goes to the IT hub.
B.Tech CS offered by MANIT has its own cons. Here is some information about the same-
The CSE offered at MANIT Bhopal is decent, and requires a lot of effort from your side. I would suggest you learn C programming language before joining the college.
Yes, you can surely attempt your JEE Mains/Advanced/BITS. Many students do the same. There are (and have been) at least 1 or 2 such students in every batch of NIT Raipur.
But I would advise you not to opt for just any other NIT. Choose an NIT which is at least 5-6 ranks above NIT Raipur. Otherwise, switching to another NIT will prove ineffective. The same goes for IIITs, choose only the old ones.
This is because NIT Raipur offers decent placements for CSE, at par with the NITs of the same stature. So wasting a year for NIT Jamshedpur or NIT Durgapur will be fruitless. If you go for JEE counseling, you’ll have to withdraw from your NIT Raipur seat first. To be on the safe side, go for the counseling only with a score high enough to get you CSE in a better ranking NIT. Otherwise, you might get NIT Raipur once again. This has happened with students in the past.
I hope this advice will help you make wise decisions regarding your college switch.
Both NIT Silchar as well as IIIT Jabalpur are backed by the Government of India and have similar facilities. The campus, faculty, and alumni network are great in both cases. However, there are some additional parameters in which IIIT Jabalpur fares better making it a more preferable choice. Some of them have been mentioned below
Overall, if you are passionate about academics and research, then go for IIIT Jabalpur but if you want a more vibrant college life choose NIT Silchar.
Unlike the general opinion that NIT Jalandhar is better than Thapar University just because of its NIT title, I have a different opinion. I think Thapar University should get the recognition it deserves. Some points in favor of my opinion are:
The CSE was renewed by Trinity College, Dublin. The curriculum is way more advanced than that of NIT Jalandhar. The latter has an outdated syllabus which is not relevant to the industry.
Many technical societies help inculcate special skills.
Placements for CSE are excellent at Thapar University.
Coding culture is witnessing a spike over the few years. 1st year students are getting selected for GSOC
The research culture at Thapar University is better than that of NIT Jalandhar where no one is interested in writing research papers at all.
The infrastructure is also better at NIT Jalandhar.
The location of Thapar University makes it easily accessible to restaurants, cinemas and other facilities.
There are various coaching institutes in and around Thapar University for GRE/CAT/IAS/GMAT.
All these points clearly prove that Thapar University is better than NIT Jalandhar.
Both the branches, Electrical and MnC have great scope in terms of employment in both core and non-core jobs. However, most high-paying jobs are given to CS students with the Electrical students securing average packages only. Here is when MnC comes to your rescue. It provides opportunities for CS jobs as well as Finance and Analytics, both being highly paid and demanded sectors. The branch attracts huge companies like Goldman Sachs.
Anyone with a deep interest in Mathematical concepts and theoretical concepts will find this program very intriguing. The curriculum comprises core math topics like discrete mathematics, combinatorics, algebra, and statistics as well as some CS topics. Electrical on the other hand, has topics like power electronics and electronic circuits which focus on practical implementation rather than theoretical concepts.
Department-wise, Electrical is better because of the quality of the faculty pool it has. MnC constantly faces issues related to the quality of teaching and faculty. The faculty in the Maths department is excellent but when it comes to teaching CS electives, it does not impart knowledge better than core CS professors.
Since one of my sisters is a part of LNCT Bhopal, it is best to limit the answer to discussing it. As per what she mentions, LNCT Bhopal is a promising institute when it comes down to departments like CSE, IT, or ECE.
Here is a brief insight about the placement session conducted at LNCT Bhopal, as per the latest records:
Institute | LNCT, Bhopal |
Placement Percentage | 83% |
Highest Salary Package | INR 27 LPA (2020) |
Average Salary Package | INR 5.3 LPA |
Top Recruiting Companies | VMware, Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini |
It provides very disciplined conduct of college life. However, it is best that you compare the prospects of both institutes and make an informed decision afterward.
