Some of my seniors studied at BITS Pilani and while they may not know much about the IITs, they do know that the funds the institute is receiving are helping it grow more and more. The campus is being renovated and more equipment is being bought for the labs.
For study projects, lab projects, thesis, and the students who work under the faculty will be interacting with the undergraduate students. The interactions can be instrumental in honing your academics and other skills for success.
Some other standout features are:
Hyderabad also has a number of popular institutes and is a great place for students who are currently and willing to pursue Ph.D. As BITS Pilani is still growing consistently, the fees are getting higher. The money is poured into the expansion of the institute.
BITS Pilani is better than NIT Trichy. It offers better course structure, placements, brand value, peer group, exposure, alumni base, and campus life. BITS Pilani doesn’t have any reservation policy and admission is purely based on merit, so you will be among talented peers. The institute isn’t strict about attendance and students have a lot of academic flexibility. You will be able to choose your professors as well as set your own timetable. BITS Pilani placements are great. According to the recent placement highlights of the institute, the average CTC received by the students is around INR 9.05 LPA, while the highest CTC goes up to INR 16 LPA.
A family friend is a faculty of BITS Pilani and from what he has learned about Artificial Intelligence, there is nothing such as B.Tech or M.Tech.
BITS Pilani offers Artificial Intelligence, ML1, and ML2 as disciplinary electives for students who are pursuing computer science. The electives are offered without any prerequisites for the students of other branches. You will also have the capability of carrying out projects under faculty in these fields.
Well, assuming that your 1st preference is CS at Pilani. EEE at Pilani is arguably one of the most difficult branches out there. Based on the conversations I had with my friends from both the BITS campus, here is what I can tell you about the courses.
Parameters&n | BITS Goa | BITS Pilani |
Tuition Fee | 3.99 lakhs | 4.45 lakhs |
Placement Average | 94% | 95% |
Average CTC | INR 5 LPA | INR 18.05 LPA |
Highest CTC | INR 1.40 Cr | INR 45 LPA |
So, if you want an easy life, better go for CS in Goa. Otherwise, choose EEE at Pilani.
BIMTECH Noida is a top-ranked management institute in India that offers a variety of post-graduate courses such as PGDM, PGDM IB (International Business), PGDM IBM (Insurance business management), and PGDM RM (Retail Management). Compared to BITS Pilani, BIMTECH stands out in several aspects such as faculty, environment, opportunities, student life, academic resources, and location for an MBA.
One of the standout features of BIMTECH is its faculty. The professors at BIMTECH are highly experienced and come from diverse backgrounds with a mix of academic and industry experience. This allows the students to gain valuable insights into various industries and business practices.
BIMTECH also offers a great environment for students to grow and learn. The campus is equipped with modern facilities such as well-stocked libraries, computer labs, and sports facilities to ensure that students have access to everything they need. The institute also has a strong focus on extracurricular activities, which helps students to develop their skills and interests outside the classroom.
One of the key advantages of BIMTECH is the ample opportunities it provides for students. The institute has strong industry linkages and collaborations with various companies, which help students gain practical exposure and experience. BIMTECH also has a strong alumni network, which provides students with the opportunity to connect with successful professionals and gain valuable insights into the industry.
In terms of academic resources, BIMTECH is well-equipped with modern technologies, online learning resources, and an updated curriculum that keeps up with the latest industry trends. The institute provides students with access to various databases, journals, and online resources that aid their research and learning.
Lastly, BIMTECH's location also offers several advantages. It is located in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India, which is a hub for many industries and businesses. This provides students with ample opportunities to interact with professionals from various fields, gain exposure, and build their network.
BIMTECH is a much better option compared to BITS in terms of faculty, environment, opportunities, student life, academic resources, and location. The institute provides students with the right balance of academic and practical learning, which helps them become industry-ready professionals.
BITS Pilani and IIT Ropar, both are excellent engineering institutes in India. The choice depends on you. Evaluate the various factors and select the institute which fulfills your needs.
The fee and placement statistics are below.
Category | IIT Ropar | BITS Pilani |
Fee | INR 8.58 Lakhs | INR 16.41 Lakhs |
Average CTC | INR 12 LPA | INR 15.6 LPA |
Highest CTC | INR 18 LPA | INR 45 LPA |
Top Recruiters | DE Shaw, Wipro, Amazon, Cognizant, Flipkart | Google, Amazon, Ericsson, Microsoft, IOCL, Directi |
IIT Ropar comes with an IIT tag and is a Tier-2 college. On the other hand, BITS Pilani also enjoys a similar brand reputation in the industry but it is a Tier-1 college. You will be exposed to better opportunities at BITS. The campus has a friendly environment and you will be motivated to learn new things.
Apart from the above factors, consider discussing with the alumni, parents, and teachers before taking admission. Finally, both the institutes have CSE as the best branch.
If you are an undergraduate student at BITS Pilani who is interested in studying abroad, it is important to understand that not all universities offer this opportunity to their students. Even IITs, which are known for their international research collaborations, do not send all undergraduate students abroad. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
While some students may have more opportunities than others when it comes to studying abroad or pursuing research internships, this should not discourage you from pursuing your goals. By focusing on your academic achievements, building your network, and taking advantage of the resources available to you, you can increase your chances of success and achieve your dreams of studying abroad.
If you are mainly talking about the Goa or Hyderabad campus, you will not be able to let your parents stay with you. But, as far as the Pilani campus is concerned and you are from the city, you can stay with your parents.
However, it is advised not to think of doing something like this because if you are a day scholar, transportation will be a huge hassle for you. Even if you make pros and cons list, the pros will not be worth it.
A friend of mine also thought of doing the same but he switched to a hosteller after a year. You will learn new things in life when you stay at the hostel. You will get to learn how to live among people that you like and otherwise dislike.
Generally speaking, I have also heard of a few parents coming and staying for a span of two to three days to meet their children. But, let me tell you if you are thinking of parents staying with you on campus, that is probably not possible as most of us have never heard of such a case.
According to one of my friend’s experiences, the choice of preference varies from person to person. Sometimes it happens that a student is not able to get the particular desired branch in BITS Pilani so he/she opts for BITS Goa is usually the cut-off for some branches is low on the Goa campus. There is also a preference of the students for living their lifestyle, so some of them prefer beaches over deserts and vice versa.
Placements for M.Tech CSE are quite decent when compared to both campuses. Normally it is observed that for Computer Science branch Goa campus is good.
Last but not least we can say that the preference of the campus depends upon the personal choice of a student that can vary.
Only a few years back, in about 2016, BITS Hyderabad involved its very first international students batch. The international students are not that different than the rest of the batch. Half of them have spent a reasonable amount of time in India before coming to the institute.
Everyone in the institute is equally treated. There is no discrimination inside or outside the student circle. You can befriend anyone in the institute. However, there are various students who choose to recuse themselves from others. But it’s up to you how you want to spend your time at the institute.
Having said that, there has clearly not been any kind of discrimination in the institute. Once you get admission, it does not matter whether you have entered via BITSAT or SAT. Hope this helps answer your query.
