But every NLS graduate receives immense opportunities, including pursuing Masters from top law schools and practicing at the best law firms across the world. Therefore, it can be said that NLSIU is one of the best law colleges in the country.

Can I crack the CLAT 2022 if my LST mock scores are approximately 50? I am improving them but as there is only 4 months left, can I make it to NLSIU?

VD
Varsha Dixit Posted On : September 17th, 2021
BA.LLB from National Law University ,Odisha (2021)

It may not be the amount of time left that would be sufficient to crack the CLAT exam, but the utilization of the time left will surely give an edge over other things.

There are various people who have cleared the CLAT examination with just one month of preparation and there are also few people who have taken more than 2 years.

So, in 4 months’ time, one can make out a proper strategy for themselves, prepare a well-structured timetable and stick with it. Give more time to your weak areas and master your strengths. You should prepare and give mocks hand to hand.

It would be advised to give as many as possible. Also, make sure to analyze the mock results. You should accordingly make changes to your studying strategy.

The key to success is hard work. It may do wonders, therefore it is advisable to utilize your time well and keep pushing for a little more hard and smart work.

According to my friends from NLSIU Bangalore, it is best to join a coaching center as early as possible.

  • You should get your hand on the question banks and study materials. Mock-tests are also important to get accustomed to the different types of questions and its pattern in the examination. Go through different types of questions and prepare answers for them.
  • Practice arithmetic and reasoning regularly for improvement.
  • After the initial stage of preparation, you can also go through the previous year’s paper of NLS, NALSAR for firming your grip on the subject.

Brushing your strengths and weaknesses is necessary. With strategic planning and regular practice, you can easily secure a good score to get accepted at NLSIU Bangalore.

Even after considering the AILET tougher than the CLAT why do most of the top rankers (of both CLAT and AILET) choose NLSIU over NLU Delhi?

JB
Jagat Behera Posted On : September 14th, 2021
Studied B.A LL.B Law & Economic Policy,National Law University,Delhi (2013)

Although AILET is more difficult than CLAT, this does not imply that NLU Delhi is better than NLS.

If you look at the placement reports of both these colleges, NLS has done significantly better than NLUD. The weather is also a big influence here; Bangalore has a pleasant environment, but for Delhi, the weather conditions may become a bit harsh for some times especially during summers.

For your reference, the placement of NLU Delhi for the year 2020 is mentioned in the table below:

Particulars Statistics
No. of Students placed (B.A.LLB) 45
No. of Students placed (LL.M) 8
Median Package offered (B.A.LLB) INR 18 Lakhs per annum
Median Package offered (LL.M) INR 8 Lakhs per annum

You can refer to the placement report NLSIU Bangalore in the table given below:

Particulars Statistics
Students registered for Placements 58
No. of PPO 23
Highest Package offered INR 18 Lakhs per annum
Lowest package offered INR 15 Lakhs per annum
Top Recruiters L&L Partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, ICICI Bank, Societe Generale etc

If you attend NLUD, you will have incredible opportunities because you will be living in a city with India's best High Court and Supreme Court. On the other hand, Bangalore is an MNC hub, you will get corporate employment and internship opportunities there.

Furthermore, NLSIU is recognized as the "Harvard of the East," implying that this college has surely done something worth the recognition that it receives.

Does NLSIU, Bangalore accept IB scores?

JP
Jinia Pashupati Posted On : September 28th, 2021
Studied at National Law School of India University,Bangalore (2017)

Yes, it does although there are some ifs and buts. IB scores come in a little later after the NLSIU admission process begins. So CBSE students have that advantage but I think IB should be fine too.

  • There are ways in which the NLSIU Exam Department converts your IB scores.
  • To my knowledge, those scores do not matter primarily because they have an entrance exam of their own- CLAT.
  • The rank in that exam is what decides your admission.
  • The board scores are secondary.
  • They are looked at after you have cracked the entrance exam.
  • You just need above 50% in your boards if you belong in the general category and 45% in the reservation category.

One of my friends didn't opt for IB for the same reason that they delayed the result and that might result in dropping a year. You can even opt for the exam while you are in the 11th class by choosing the option ‘Class 12 result pending’. That will help you get prepared for the exam and know the level of difficulty. It will act as a practice test for you.

Is there any use of class 12th marks if I get into NLSIU?

SC
Surveen Chettri Posted On : September 17th, 2021
Studied at National Law School of India University ,Bangalore (2019)

One of my cousins graduated from NLSIU and here’s what I got to know from him. To get into any NLSIU you need to sit for the all-India entrance exam called CLAT.

  • You can appear for the CLAT exam without being a 12th pass out. But if you get selected and wish to join NLSIU, Bangalore, or any other NLU you need 12th marks.
  • For Unreserved, OBC, or Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories: a minimum of 55% marks.
  • For SC/ ST category, a minimum of 50% marks is required.
  • On the date of admission, the candidate must have passed or appeared in the final year examination of the qualifying examination.

So it might not make much of a difference after you get NLSIU but it matters when you prepare to get into it.

With the new CLAT pattern, how can one achieve NLS B or Nalsar in 1 month (I know I can, many people in the past have & I am just asking the strategy)?

SM
Sunidhi Mishra Posted On : August 31st, 2021
NLSIU Bangalore (2020)

Strategy is something that you need to design on your own. What worked for someone else may not work for you. There may be a common ground of how to go about some subject for your CLAT preparation. But no one can give you any full proof plan. You need to develop your own strategy based on your strengths and weaknesses.

Now let’s discuss whether you can clear CLAT with one month of preparation or not. It depends on your level of preparation.

  • If you are starting from scratch, then it will be quite difficult. Since the new format of CLAT demands consistency and regularity to secure a decent score. And it takes time to get to the level of that preparation. But if you are gifted with great comprehension and reasoning skills then I guess you can prepare for the examination in one month.
  • Now if you already have a hang of the subjects but are not confident about your preparation, then I will suggest you practice as many critical reasoning questions and comprehension as you can.
  • If you have missed GK for a few months catch up on it and attempt a few sample questions to get the hang of the new pattern.
  • For logical reasoning don’t just solve the sample paper released by the Consortium, solve past years’ questions too. The consortium itself acknowledged that past years’ questions can be useful.
  • For Quantitative Aptitude, solve questions from the internet or from study materials. Apart from a few questions, this section is generally easy.

So if you have a hang of the subjects, consistent practice is the key to ace the test.

Yes, you can join NLSIU after completing B.Tech degree. The university gives admission to a 5-year integrated program that is BA LLB. The basic qualification required is 10+2.

Since you have already completed the B.Tech program that is of 4-years after 10+2, if you do not have any issue completing a five-year program, then apply for CLAT and appear in it. Of course, it will be easy for you to appear in CLAT as you are an IIT student.

However, you should make sure to check the notification on the official website of the college before applying.
