Should I prefer IIEST Shibpur over Thapar University for CSE?

IIEST Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur is a government-funded university and has been ranked 21 among top engineering colleges by NIRF. On the other hand, Thapar University, a private deemed university, has been ranked 29th among top engineering colleges in India by NIRF.

• IIEST University witnessed participation from 90+ top companies in the placement and recruitment drive in the commencement year. The average placement rate was around 64% with CSE 72%. Every year the placement record at IIEST breaks its own record and it's shown consistent improvement.
• Thapar University conducts over 150 industry provided training projects and industry-institute interaction programs. 200+ companies took part in the recruitment drives last year including industry giants such as Deloitte, Edelweiss, JP Morgan, Microsoft. The average placement rate is over 80%.

As far as the faculty is concerned, both the universities have the best of their fields. Eventually, it is the onus of the student to outshine with whatever available resources he/she gets, through hard work and perseverance.
