Why are the packages at the NIT Calicut low?

As some of my friends studied in NIT Calicut, I might be able to answer your question. Let me share the facts I got to know from my friends. 

• The placement is decent and at par with most of the other NITs in the country. 
• Moreover, the packages of the circuit branches (like CSE, ECE, EEE) have been excellent. 
• Here the companies offer higher CTC to the students because of the brand name of NIT. 
• Students get to sit for placements in top MNCs and start-ups. 
• In college, the ECE department has the best professors and well-equipped laboratories.

The packages of NIT Calicut are not low. The placement statistics of the institute are below.

NIT Calicut is a prestigious engineering college in Kerala with 23rd rank in NIRF Ranking for Engineering 2020. The college is Central Government funded, and cream students who have cracked JEE Mains cut-off for NITC get admission. 

The college has diversity. Students from different cultures and backgrounds unite in the college. Overall, the college gives ample opportunities to the students.
