I would like to add on to the previous answer and mention a few important points regarding branch change at MANIT Bhopal-

  1. The HS and OS quota are maintained during branch change.
  2. The Open category seats can be claimed by SC/ST/OBC students with better scores, but not vice versa.
  3. Only 10% students from the original strength can opt for transfer from their branch.
  4. The number of vacant seats has reduced over the years, making branch change more and more difficult.
  5. I would advise you to choose your branch wisely from the beginning itself. It is highly probable that you end up with the same branch for four years.

Try to make the most of your stay at MANIT, and choose your field of study wisely.

I had the same query a year ago, but now I am eligible to answer this question. A week ago, I got my branch changed from MSME to CSE.

Here is some information regarding branch change at MANIT Bhopal-

  1. Branch change is done after a year, against vacant seats in a branch.
  2. For branch change, you need to work very hard and score well in the first year.
  3. Your first year CGPA will be considered during branch change. Maintain a CGPA close to 9 for core branches(EE, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical), and around 9.5 for soft tech branches (CSE, ECE).
  4. Adhere to the semester curriculum, maintain a good reputation in front of your professors, and work sincerely for your mini, mid and end sem exams. Scoring well at MANIT isn’t a very difficult task.
  5. Even with a good CGPA, you may not get a branch slide. Your chances depend on the number of vacant seats for your category in that branch.

It is not very difficult to get your branch changed at MANIT. However, you’ll have to work hard for it.
