The gender ratio at IIT Kharagpur is quite unequal, having a much higher number of male students as compared to females.

The table represents the gender ratio of IIT Kharagpur for different years.

IIT KGP Student Gender Diversity Chart-

Student Gender Diversity
Male to Female ratio 2022-23 85:15
Male to Female ratio 2021-22 85:15
Male to Female ratio 2020-21 85:15
Male to Female ratio 2019-20 92:8
Male to Female ratio 2018-19 92:8

Even though the male: female ratio on the IIT KGP campus has improved in the past few years, the number of female students on campus is still quite low as compared to their male counterparts.

However, this ratio will keep improving with time as more and more female students join the engineering, technological and management streams in India.
