What is your review of IIT Gandhinagar CSE department?
IIT Gandhinagar has a great CSE department. The professors are among the best in India. Almost 50% of the faculty members are from the industry. So, you will get hands-on learning experience and in-depth knowledge about the current trends in the industry.
IITGN has a high-performing computer lab and two departmental labs with a capacity of 100 computers each. The research interface of the department is something the institute boasts about. Professors actively take part in cutting-edge research projects.
Companies such as IOCL, Goldman Sachs, ISRO, ITC, etc. recruit CSE students through IIT Gandhinagar placements. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 18 LPA.

A friend of mine is pursuing B.Tech in CSE from IIT Gandhinagar. She mentioned the following points listed below to give a brief idea about the CSE department of IIT Gandhinagar:
- The professors do a great job at teaching. They have a clear idea about their respective subjects. They engage with the students as much as they can and try helping them in as many matters as they could.
- You can have untimed exams and still be staring at the paper the whole time just to give up! The professors teach every topic with great enthusiasm and provide a good number of examples but the question paper is set on a whole new level.
- The assignments test your ability to think as these are challenging and also time-consuming. But, they are a great source of learning. You will have to work hard just to pass.
- Talking about the faculty, they are genius! They are friendly and will push you to do better. Also, since most of the faculties have an industrial background, the technologies discussed in class are not bygone but latest. This makes it worth the learning.
In short, the CSE department at IIT Gandhinagar is setting the bar high for its undergraduate programs.
