How is NIT Raipur in terms of placements at present? Are good packages offered here?

NIT Raipur got its NIT status just back in 2005. Since then, it has enhanced the placement scenario over the years. Before diving into the depths of the placement scenario of NIT Raipur, let's get to know a little bit about the institute. 

Research: NIT Raipur has limited resources for research elements.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the institute is somewhat poor and it also lacks good hostel facilities for both boys and girls.

Sadly, there also are not enough classrooms with branches which can allot 3-4 sessions per year. The institute only has one building and within it all the branches are allotted their particular classes.

Placements:

For the academic year 2019-20, the institute has hosted over 101 recruiters from various sectors. Students received a total of 582 job offers. Here is a brief highlight of the placement drive.

• Students from CSE/IT received job offers in several platforms such as software development, app development, analytics, data science, R&D. Some of the major recruiting companies for these branches were Samsung, Amazon, code-nation, UHG, AQ, Capgemini, Polaris, 3Dplm, Infosys and more.
• EE and ECE are two such branches that can sit for placement in companies that hire CSE and IT, core jobs for ECE is a very rare sight nowadays, thus most of the ECE graduates go-to software companies.
• For Mech, EE, CIVIL, mining, some of the major recruiting companies were L&T Construction, L&T Power, Vedanta, RIL, JSW, Prism Cement, BEML, Tata Steel, Bhushan Steel, Tata Motors, TVS, Daikin, Suzuki and etc.

This is the present placement scenario at NIT Raipur. If you want a good salary package in campus placement, go for CS/IT. Although you can appear in interviews for CS/IT companies, even if you are from a different branch.
