- A few faculties have no interest in teaching.
- The placement stats are inflated and thus misleading.
- The MBA batch of NMIMS has a huge batch of around 600 students affecting the quality of education.
- There is a huge gap between the administration and the students.
- Easy entrance exam affects the quality of the crowd.
So, NMIMS was once a great B School but the increasing batch size has affected its reputation largely. You can go for colleges with a smaller batch size and similar fees to get better job opportunities.

Only around 3000 students are called for the GD/PI round and around 600 students are shortlisted for the final selection. So, only 0.7% of students are selected from the students taking NMAT. In order to get admission, you will need to be among the top 1% of the students. Here are some helpful tips regarding the admission process.
NMIMS Mumbai Admission 2022:
- NMIMS Mumbai allows you to take 3 attempts of NMAT. You should take advantage of all three of these attempts.
- NMAT doesn’t have negative markings. So, you should try to attempt as many questions as you can.
- The case discussion round will take place with around 12 other participants. You will be given a one-page case and 5 mins preparation time, before the 15 mins case discussion. Through this round, they want to see how you structure and approach a case.
- After the case discussion round there will be a personal interview round with 3 panelists. They usually ask questions based on your CV and current affairs.
Work hard to score above 210+ in NMAT and take full advantage of the 3 attempts. With strategic preparation, getting into NMIMS won’t be hard.
Which college should I choose- NM or XIMB?
XIMB is a great option for Finance and Systems. Business Management is their flagship program. All major banks and IT companies recruit from the institute. The institute offers a high ROI. XIMB placement highlight of 2021 reports an average CTC of INR 15.51 LPA. and the highest CTC of INR 24 LPA.
NMIMS is good for Marketing or Sales. It has a well-established alumni base across FMGC majors.

IGNOU is best for distance learning MBA. IGNOU MBA course structure is pretty good. You will get to learn the basics first then the main concepts. The study materials are good and make the learning process smooth. IGNOU also has a better reputation.
Symbiosis Pune is also a good option for MBA. You can choose one of these two options based on fee structure and eligibility.
How do I get admission into NMIMS for distance learning for an MBA?
The admission process for NMIMS distance MBA includes three steps, i.e. registration, submission of documents, and fee payment.
- First, fill up the registration form online and pay the admission processing fee.
- Visit Authorised Enrolment Partner with Passport Size Photograph, Photo Identity, Academic Documents, and Work Experience Document (if any). The academic counselor will verify the documents and upload the same.
- After the document verification, make the fee payment. You can do it online by drawing a demand draft in favor of ‘SVKM’s NMIMS’ payable at Mumbai. There are loan options available.
