Presidency University, Kolkata is certainly not overrated. With a legacy of over 200 years, the university has maintained its well-deserved place in Asian history. It has been widely covered by Google Art & Culture. Presidency University alumni list includes 3 Nobel laureates. The high ranking of Presidency University is well-justified.

The short answer is no. Each university in India is ranked differently according to different websites which may be biased in some or another way. Although the rankings matter, Presidency University is not overrated at all. Some of my friends have studied there and are successful in their lives today.
Presidency University has a 200-year old rich history and cannot be compared to many institutes and universities all over India. Presidency University had produced notable personalities like:
- Amartya Sen
- Ashoke Sen
- Jagadish Chandra Bose
- Meghnad Saha
- P.C. Mahalanobis
- Prafulla Chandra Roy
- Satyendra Nath Bose
All of them became remarkable experts in their respective fields like no other universities in India. This makes Presidency University stand out among all others. The university remains and still would continue to be a center of excellence with respect to higher learning and research.
