Studied at XIMB

Before joining an MBA program, such as Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB), it's important to understand that your expectations as a recent BTech graduate will be based on factors such as your grades, the college or university you graduated from, and your major (such as computer science or mechanical engineering). To prepare for the MBA program, it's recommended that you brush up on key subjects like statistics, mathematics, excel, and economics.

Additionally, it's essential that you keep yourself updated on current events. This will help you understand the current business environment and be better prepared for the program.

One of my cousins was a B.Tech graduate and also an MBA alumnus in XIMB and here are some facts about the college which might help you understand it a bit more.

From a B.Tech freshers perspective, the following things will be different at XIMB-

Academics-

  • Unlike engineering campuses where classes are taken for granted, B-schools take their curriculum seriously.
  • Academics are at the core of everything you do. You get penalized by grade cuts for low attendance.
  • Regular quizzes and assignments will be held. At times, classes will be held in the odd hours of the evening or early morning.

Faculty-

  • The faculty at XIMB are top-notch and are regarded as the best in their fields.
  • The first year of an MBA is extremely rigorous and the second year largely depends on your choice of electives.

Events and activities-

  • The majority of activities at XIMB are student-driven to inculcate leadership qualities.
  • The student committees are active the whole time. There are around 20+ committees to choose from.
  • XIMB hosts one of India’s biggest B-school fests- Xpressions.

Placements:

  • XIMB takes its placements seriously. There are dedicated career advisory and service cells that will groom you.
