National Test for Programs After Twelfth (NPAT) as the name suggests is an entrance test conducted by NMIMS to admit students to its various undergraduate and integrated programs. It is a 100-minute Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of three sections; Quantitative and Numerical Ability, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and Proficiency in English Language. To prepare for the tests you may follow some of the following points.

  • Complete your syllabus by the end of December and start giving mock tests next.
  • Thoroughly analyze them to understand your strengths and weaknesses.
  • For the Quantitative and the Reasoning sections speed is a key factor. So practice some shortcuts along the way as well.
  • For English, make a habit of reading newspapers daily to improve your language knowledge and vocabulary.
  • In Reasoning section, they sometimes ask logical puzzles. So practice 5-10 problems each day from Youtube.
  • You may also solve some previous year’s question papers to understand the pattern.
  • Mind games such as Sudoku, Crossword Puzzles will also help you crack reasoning questions faster.

Now as I see it, all the sections are fairly easy to crack with a little effort. You may also use YouTube for learning concepts. If you wish you could join some crash courses as well. Arihant’s DU JAT-BMS books are great for clearing concepts.
