M.Tech in Manufacturing Engineering (GTU), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore

If you have a valid GATE score, you can get direct admission to Amrita University Coimbatore. Students without GATE score needs to go through an examination and interview. The interview panel usually includes 5-7 interviewers. Most questions in the interview will be about your bachelor's degree major.

The interviwers may ask you to choose an area of interest, and they will ask questions about those subjects. The interview questions aren’t too difficult.

There are quite a few steps to follow in order to secure admission at Amrita University. The following steps will help you out with the selection process for PG admission. You can also apply for scholarships if you like:

  • If you have appeared for the GATE exam, you will get direct admission if you qualify.
  • If you are a student who has not appeared for GATE, you can seek admission on the basis of your academic records as well as how well you perform during the interview.
  • Other exams like TANCET, PGCET, PGECET also qualify for direct admission for students if there is availability.

Now, if you are looking for scholarships as well, here is some information on the same:

  • Scholarships for GATE-qualified students: According to AICTE norms, all GATE-qualified candidates are eligible for a scholarship of INR 12,400 per month through the Post Graduate Scholarship Scheme in AICTE approved colleges and courses. For Amrita, all M.Tech programs qualify for this.
  • Scholarships offered by Amrita University: You can avail scholarships up to INR 1 lakh per year for many M. Tech programs at the university. Additional scholarships of INR 10 lakhs per student are also given for integrated M.Tech and Ph.D. programs. If you are highly motivated, you can also seek opportunities to pursue dual degrees in universities abroad in Europe, US, and Australia.

Overall, the admission process is quite simple and if you are GATE qualified, you might not have to appear for an interview at all.
