IIT Madras Physics faculty is great. If you are interested in Solid State Technology, the M.Tech program is ideal for you. However, the placement opportunities are limited. If you are interested in research, you will get good exposure through the degree. If you want to pursue a Ph.D. maintain a good academic record. Do various projects that can reflect your capabilities.

At IIT Madras, placement opportunities for the Physics department are fewer as compared to the other streams. If you are looking to make a career in the science field, only then pursue an M.Tech degree.
