Both CUSAT CAT and JEE are competitive entrance exams for engineering and other technical programs. Here are some points to help you understand the difficulty level of these exams:

CUSAT CAT:

  • CUSAT CAT is conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • The exam consists of multiple-choice questions in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • The difficulty level of CUSAT CAT is considered to be moderate, and the questions are generally based on the NCERT syllabus.
  • The exam requires a good understanding of fundamental concepts and problem-solving skills.

JEE:

  • JEE is conducted by the NTA for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other government-funded technical institutions in India.
  • The exam consists of two papers - JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is a multiple-choice question-based exam, while JEE Advanced consists of both multiple-choice and numerical answer-based questions.
  • The difficulty level of JEE is considered to be high, and the questions are generally more challenging than those in CUSAT CAT.
  • The exam requires a deep understanding of fundamental concepts, analytical skills, and the ability to apply them to solve complex problems.

In conclusion, JEE is considered to be more difficult than CUSAT CAT due to its higher level of complexity and the need for advanced problem-solving skills. However, the difficulty level of both exams ultimately depends on individual preparation and aptitude

One of my friends sat for both exams. According to him, the JEE Mains is tougher. When compared to CUSATs CAT, it is definitely more difficult.

  • Physics, Chemistry, and Maths have equal weightage in Jee Mains (30 x 3 = 90 questions), giving you a maximum score of 360 [4 marks for correct answers and -1 for incorrect answers].
  • The weightage in the CAT is a little different.
  • Math has 125 questions, Physics has 75, and Chemistry has 50.
  • So, there are 250 questions in total.
  • Each correct answer is worth 3 points, while incorrect answers are worth -1.
  • So, in CAT, you can gain up to 750 points.

CUSAT, along with NIT Calicut, is the greatest in my opinion. To get into an NIT, you must get around 98 percentiles on the JEE mains. Don't lose CUSAT if you are getting flagship courses like Naval Architecture then you can opt for it.
