UPSC NDA is most certainly tougher than CUSAT NDA. In terms of syllabus, CUSAT CAT would exclusively stick to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. On the basis of these three subjects, your knowledge would be determined.

When we talk about UPSC NDA, your knowledge would be checked overall by observing your written exams which would be based on General Ability consisting of polity, geography, history, economics, English, and current affairs along with mathematics.

  • Cracking CUSAT CAT would make you eligible to carry out extensive research on science and technology/pursue a bachelor's degree from one of the finest institutes in Kerala.
  • But UPSC NDA would help you become a respected officer for the Indian Military. You would be leading men to sail/fight during a warship and you would get to fly fighter jets.
  • CUSAT demands you to crack the CAT examination and get a good score. This score would help you go for the course that you have wanted. Your skills would further help you grab a job once you get your degree.
  • Clearing the NDA exam is just one step into a long procedure the UPSC follows. This further is carried on with some other tests and interview sessions. You would then have a term of 3 years (6 terms) wherein your training would be conducted to get into the National Defense Academy. After these hardcore 4 years and by the President's Commission, you would be welcomed, as a young officer, into the Indian Army/Navy/Airforce.

Whether it is via CUSAT or even NDA, both the exams would hand you the opportunity to work for the country. Do well!
