The following summarizes the students' daily schedule:

Students in PGP1 should note that classes typically begin at 8.45 am and last until 1 pm. There might be one or two classes after lunch. Each lesson lasts 75 minutes. The PGP Office publishes the schedule for the upcoming week online.

PGP2 students: Your choice of electives will determine your schedule. The subjects are no longer shared by the entire class in the second year. Students are free to place bids on the courses they want to take. Your classes can therefore be at any time, whether it be 8.45 am or 9.45 pm. After 9.45 pm, which ends at 11 pm, there is no class. Additionally, the classes will be dispersed.

You may have a maximum of three to four classes per day (on average). Students are expected to check the intranet at least once a day to stay up to date on recent changes because the schedule is subject to change.

As a few of my friends are studying in IIM Indore, I might be able to share their class timings. Here is the overall campus schedule.

  • The classes begin at an early hour of 8:45 AM and you are expected to be punctual since the latecomers have to pay a premium.
  • Apart from being on time, you need to come prepared for class.
  • As the reading material will be circulated in advance, you need to go through it for the next class.
  • The lectures are usually 75-minute long sessions, with 15-minute tea breaks.
  • In the evening, you can stroll in and around the campus or indulge in your favorite sports.
  • In addition, the institute also provides a bus that runs around the city so you can travel, have a look at the city and discover many food joints.
  • You have to strictly adhere to the attendance criteria as you’ll have a biometric system.
  • Thus, entry and exit from the class are only possible at specific times.
  • You must secure a minimum of 80% attendance.

There is a Students’ Activities Council (SAC). You can enjoy fun events like celebrations, dinners, bonfires, parties, etc organized by The Cultural Committee of IIM.

Overall, my friends describe their life at IIM Indore as an exhilarating journey. The timings and attendance criteria at IIM might sound hectic at first. But you will get used to it.
