ISI Kolkata admission for Ph.D. is based on UGC NET/JRF and ISI admission test or equivalent. Students are shortlisted for admission tests based on their performance in UGC NET/JRF. You need to go through the interview round, on clearing the admission test, qualifying which will make you eligible for final selection.
Every year, around February-March, ISI announces admission for Ph.D. You must complete the form and appear for the written examination.
The test will be divided into two parts: (a) Mathematics, which is the same for everyone; (b) Questions related to your field.
If you pass the written exam, you will be approached for an interview, and qualifying it would secure you a seat in ISI.
There are more than 60 seats available for Ph.D. across various departments at ISI Kolkata. Some of which include Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Quantitative Economics, and many more.
