How are the hostel rooms in AIIMS Jodhpur and in AIIMS Bhopal?
AIIMS Jodhpur is very popular for its hostels and its hostels are one of the major features which set it apart from other government medical colleges in India. AIIMS Jodhpur has well-built and maintained hostels with all major modern facilities and amenities.
- Hostel rooms at AIIMS Jodhpur are offered on a single or double-sharing basis.
- There are 250 rooms in the boy’s hostel and 125 rooms in the girls' hostel.
- The rooms are clean and well-maintained.
- Each room has an almirah, a study table with drawers, a chair, a small low-height table, a bed with storage, a mattress, and pillows.
- The rooms are spacious and well-painted with a balcony outside each room with a common area on each floor.
- AIIMS Jodhpur Hostels also have a common dining hall, a mess, and a recreational area.
- The hostels have restrictions as well and the wardens are extremely strict.
- The institute doesn’t allow inductions and cooking in the hostel rooms.
- The fees for hostels at AIIMS Jodhpur are very affordable which is around INR 990 for MBBS.
AIIMS Bhopal hostels are also well-maintained and have good infrastructure. The hostel rooms at AIIMS Bhopal have good furniture, with around 3/4th of a wall fitted with wooden furniture. The rooms are equipped with all the amenities such as a bookshelf, table, chair, bed, mattress, drawer, and table. There are no attached washrooms but the common washrooms are also very clean and hygienic.

As a student of AIIMS Jodhpur, I can only speak for our hostels.
The hostels at AIIMS Jodhpur are quite decent, and much better than the ones at state medical colleges. Each student is given a single occupancy room with an attached balcony. The room furniture is of good quality, of Godrej brand. Each room has an almirah, a study table with drawers, a chair, a small table of low height, a bed with storage, a mattress and a pillow.
Till 6th semester, the boys aren’t given rooms with attached washrooms. For them, there are 8 common washrooms on each floor. The boys get a room with an attached washroom after their 6th semester, but girls get such rooms from their first day itself.
Apart from that, the hostels have a common room with TV, and a small library with novels. The common washrooms are regularly cleaned by the cleaning staff, but the room cleaning is a bit irregular, around once a week. Installation of room ACs is not allowed, but desert coolers are permitted.
I can safely say that you’ll like the hostel facility at AIIMS Jodhpur.

The state of hostel rooms at AIIMS Bhopal is better than AIIMS Jodhpur.
AIIMS Jodhpur has single occupancy rooms with attached washrooms. The balconies are congested. There are no LAN facilities in the hostel. There is a common mess in a separate building. The hostels have well-constructed sports courts.
AIIMS Bhopal hostels have better furniture. They provide basic amenities like a bed, table, chair, mattress, drawer, etc. About 3/4th of the wall has wooden furnishing. Rooms have wall-mounted bookshelves. The balconies are open and have adequate space. Rooms don’t have attached washrooms. But each floor has a washing area with 3-4 bathrooms and toilets. Hostels have 24*7 LAN facilities.

The hostel facilities offered at AIIMS Jodhpur are decent. The rooms are of single occupancy. There are separate washrooms attached to every room. The furniture offered is not that great. There is a common mess for boys and girls in a separate building. The campus is green and beautiful. The sports facilities offered are quite good. There are well-constructed courts for various sports.
Comparably, AIIMS Bhopal offers better hostel facilities. It offers better furniture. Basic amenities like a table, chair, mattress, bed, drawer, and one small table are provided. The balcony is open and of adequate size. There are washrooms. However, there is a washing area at each wing with 3-4 bathrooms and toilets. Also, each room has 24*7 LAN connectivity. The campus is also quite beautiful with decent sports facilities.
