I am planning to join PGPSM from NISM. Is it really worth to boost my career in securities market?

PGPSM from NISM is a good option if you are aiming for a career in Securities Market. But this program is different from typical PGDM programs offered by B-Schools. In this course, you will learn about shares, derivatives, fixed income markets, various software related to the financial market, etc. The course structure is flexible, you will get ample time to pursue other courses such as CFA, CS, etc.

NISM placements are good. In 2022 the average CTC and the highest CTC offered were INR 7.8 LPA and INR 13.67 LPA. Students get job offers such as Business Development Manager, Business Analyst, Wealth Manager, etc.

PGPSM is a unique course that appears to be the only credible course in India to provide an easy entry into the securities markets.

The entrance exam of this course is not as tough as the ones for B-schools. The selection takes place through personal interviews and profile assessments.
The course will definitely boost your career as it is not a general degree but a specialized one.
The course will be rigorous. You will learn at least one new concept every day, pass mandatory certifications, solve and present group assignments, etc.
But unlike MBA colleges, securing placements here is not an easy task. If you are willing to learn, work hard and possess a desire to excel, only then will it be valuable to you.

Most of the people here come from backgrounds of broking operations or a trading desk or other mid-level positions. Thus, the scope and exposure is huge. You just have to gather enough knowledge about the trade to become a professional and it will then definitely prove to be worthy.
