Amity University Kolkata is one of the best private universities in Kolkata. The course fees are not affordable for a middle-class family but the university provides over Rs 50 Crore worth of financial assistance to the student on merit basis or on need. The categories of scholarship awarded to students are Merit-based scholarship, Sports scholarship, Martyr’s scholarship.
This scholarship is awarded for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. To avail 100 percent scholarship one should have a minimum of above 93% in the 12th Board examination. If one needs to sustain the scholarship for the entire course period one should continue to be within the first 5 ranks in the merit list. If one score is above 85% in 12th Board examination, one could get a 50% scholarship. In order to sustain it, one should maintain their rank in between 6 to 10 in their entire course period. 25 percent scholarship is available for the ones who score 80% in their 12th Board examination and they could it in their entire course period if they maintain their score in that range.
The admission is given on Fast Track for the eligible students without Sports Trial and interview. The qualified ones are supposed to submit their sports certificates for the last three years and application form. The sports items accepted for the scholarship are Athletics, Badminton, Chess, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Shooting, Swimming, Tennis, and Volleyball. 100 percent scholarship is given to International Players, National medal winners are given a 50 percent scholarship. To avail a minimum of 25 percent the students should do sports trials and interviews in addition to the Application and Assessment of Sports certificates for the last three years.
?Martyrs from the following organizations can avail scholarship - Army, Navy, Air Force, Assam Rifles, Special Frontier Force, Indian Coast Guard, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, State Police. The applicants should submit evident documents to support their scholarship form. This application undergoes scrutiny under the Scholarship Committee.
