How is IIT Delhi for start-up culture?

IIT Delhi provides space, funding, and mentorship to students and to entrepreneurs to set up start-ups. According to the Government of India, nearly 65,861 start-ups have risen in India, and within this, 105 have made it to the unicorn clubs. Among these, 26 of the start-ups were founded by the alumni of IIT Delhi. To boost the idea of entrepreneurship among young minds, IIT Delhi has launched the Executive Program in Startup Bootcamp. It is a 100-hour and 6 months duration live online program structured to introduce the students to the opportunities of the start-up world. Also, IIT Delhi has an Endowment Nurture Fund that aims to nurture entrepreneurs who have upcoming start-ups. This allows students to get funds from IIT Delhi with funding up to INR 50 Lakhs. Some of the most exciting start-ups launched by the alumni of IIT Delhi are listed below:

  1. Zomato- Gaurav Gupta, Deepinder Goyal, Pankaj Chaddha
  2. Flipkart- Binny Bansal and Sachin Bansal
  3. HealthKart- Prashant Tandon and Sameer Maheshwari
  4. Grofers- Albinder Dhindsa and Saurabh Kumar
  5. Meesho- Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal
