For international students, proof of proficiency in English is a must for admission to Florida State University. If your native language isn’t English, you need to have valid TOFEL or IELTS scores to apply at FSU.
For TOFEL iBt, the required score is 80 and for TOFEL PBT, the required score is 550. FSU also accepts academic IELTS (6.5), PTE(55), Duolingo(120), Michigan Language Assessment (55), Cambridge C1 Advanced Level or C2 Proficiency (180), FSU CIES (successful completing of level 8).
For international students, proficiency in English is something FSU will not compromise with. If you are an international student whose native language is not English, you will definitely need to provide a minimum score in TOEFL or IELTS as stated by your program. Remember that some departments may have higher score requirements.

Those international graduate applicants who plan to be teaching assistants need to pass a spoken test of English as well. All masters and doctoral programs need at least a minimum score of 600 on the TOEFL paper-based test or 100 on the internet based test or a 7 on their IELTS exam.
