If you are preparing at home then subscribe to any youtube channel that covers all the sections and topics. ADDA24/7 is a good channel covering all the relevant topics that appear in Bank exam and DSSSB.

Follow a specific preparation plan then study the exam pattern and figure out which sections in quantitative subjects have the most weightage. For instance, for the SSC exam or any bank exam, some questions from certain sections are fixed.

Sections

Number of Questions

Number Series

5 questions

Simplification

5 questions

Data Interpretation

5 to 10 questions

Quadratic Equations

5 questions

If you focus on these topics, you can easily solve a majority of the questions in this section:

Simplification

  • Focus on this topic because about 20 percent of the quantitative section is made up of this topic.
  • Use quick mental maths to solve these questions and try to focus on the concepts as well. You can use short tricks to make quick calculations and save time.
  • Practice questions from topics like BODMAS rules, Approximation, Square and Cubes, Surds and Indices, Decimals and Percentages.

Number Series:

  • This is the easiest topic in the quantitative section.
  • Try to solve over 300 questions from different platforms and once you get a hang of the topic, you will be able to confidently answer all the questions.
  • During the exam, if you don’t understand the pattern within 30 seconds then move on. Don’t waste your time and practice more.

Data Interpretation:

  • This topic requires practice every day. Practice all the different types of questions related to Pie Charts, Tables, Line Graph, Bar Graph and Miscellaneous questions with word problems.
  • Data Interpretation questions are common in exams, you will get at least 1 or 2 sets wherein some questions are easy to solve and require fewer maths calculations.

Quadratic Equations:

  • The questions from this topic are fairly easy and if you know the basic concept, then you can easily attempt all the questions.
  • Practice 100 questions from this topic daily.

All these topics are very important, so prepare them well. Focus on solving questions on a daily basis and try to stay up to date.
