Annamalai University is quite good because students with good jobs come from developed cities to study there via distance mode. It is actually well-known for distance learning. And the distance education department is very well organized and maintained.
The faculty is also extremely qualified and helpful. Distance education from AU is thus a viable option.
One of my friends opted for an MBA in financial management in the month of Jan 2010. The 1st year fees were around Rs. 13500. He received the study material from the study centre after paying all the charges.
After a week or two, he received the acceptance letter from the university and a letter notifying the time and the venue to attend the mandatory classes. A month later, the classes began and continued for 4 days from Thursday to Sunday. Exams were held in May at Oxford College near Chamarajpet. He received a letter to pay the 2nd year fees of around Rs. 12100 in June.
My friend was notified to attend the mandatory classes in October and December. An SMS facility is available for the students to raise a query through a message to the university.
