Everyday life at KJ Somaiya College comes up with some different experiences. The institute has a campus buzzing all the time with activities. There are different specializations in the institute, with diversity among all. The points below give a brief overview of the engineering branch of the institute:

  • The college is somewhat far from south Bombay, about 20 km on average, and classes usually start at 9. You need to travel by the Mumbai local trains, pushing the crowd, and reach in time, or miss the first class.
  • A break is given in between 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM in which the canteen is extremely crowded. You are advised to bring your own lunch, though the canteen offers good quality food for a reasonable price rate.
  • You can take a tea break close to 2:45 PM, escaping from lectures. The classes finally end at around 5:00 PM.
  • Other than this routine life, there are several things to do to enjoy college life at KJ Somaiya. There is a Maggi House, located at the college entrance, which serves excellent cold coffee and a shady spot to sit and gossip.
  • Inside the campus, you are free to roam around departments. The management cafeteria is a good place and is the chit-chat spot for many engineering students.
  • There is a huge chess area with human-sized chess pieces, where students can stand on check-boxes and play. Even students playing dumb-charades sitting around the area are seen.
  • There is a cricket ground too.
  • The amphitheater has witnessed several birthday celebrations, festival days, farewell, and a lot more. It becomes one of the most memorable places inside the campus for the students.

The above points are enough to describe the life of students inside KJ Somaiya College, some of which become memories throughout life.
