IIT Bhubaneswar has been ranked as 56th in the NIRF’s list of top colleges for Ph.D. The overall NIRF ranking of the college, however, is 22 among all the engineering colleges in India. To apply for the Ph.D. courses in IIT Bhubaneswar, one has to go through the GATE entrance examination or have secured a UGC/CSIR-NET JRF score. Facilities for the Ph.D. courses are quite good at IIT Bhubaneswar, the fee structure has been increased but is feasible and around Rs 36.09 year.
The course structure in Physics consists of fundamental subjects like Experimental Atomic-Molecular-Surface Physics, Modeling of Biological Systems, Biophysics, and Quantum Field Theory among others.
While looking at the overall placement rate of the college, which is 89.5% in the year 2018-19, IIT Bhubaneswar is a pretty good option, with better prospects and average CTC of Rs 11.4 Lakhs.
The college has also been accredited to the Prime Minister's Research Fellows (PMRF) Scheme, which was designed by the Government of India to improve the quality of research, which is a plus point for those who wish to pursue Ph.D. in any subject.
